MarK,

The oil on the outside of the engine came from the dip stick tube. When we opened the hood,
the dip stick was blown about 6 inches out of the tube and most of the oil was dripping over
the front and top of the passenger side of the engine. Must have built up some crank case pressure.

Here's one more shot of the car at the grid area with Rich talking to a course worker:

Great video George! Thanks for posting it so fast. I can't believe you have any energy left after all the activity, stress, and sinus problems. Go get some rest!!!!!

Good work there guys, and what a shame about the engine..

I know what it's like standing by the side of the road with a car that gave up during ORR.

To sum up the race:

Good job guys - Someday I'll drag the OB out there. I need a few hundred more HP first.

Maybe this was already mentioned, have not read every comment Why the 2.54 vs a 2:20? Just curious. With the 2:75 in my car, top speed is way out the window!

Hacker,

The short answer is the 90 comes with a 2.54. The long answer is that with the
horse power to rpm that the car is generating, I can go faster with the 2.54 then
with the 2.20. When I get more power, I'll swap in the 2.20 that's sitting in the
garage.

That makes sense. Is your car still the same as it was when Tim shipped the kit? Or have you been able to shark tune it?
It was amazing to see what could be done with the Shark Tuner on Rachel's car (Tim's wife). Just curious.

I have a 2.54 in the garage I might save for some OB auto I pick up, someday.

Hacker,

It's still the same kit as Tim sold me in 2004. This was it's 9th open road race,
5th in 160 class. I was planning to get more power as soon as I addressed the
head gasket issue, I guess that's still the case

You should see Jean-Louis air/air IC on his car with the Murf bracket setup. He really didn't have to cut up the car much - headlights need to go though.

I have about 100 images of his new car....never took one of the engine, otherwise I would post it for yea.

You know you're having fun when the dashed yellow lines start looking like a solid yellow line.

But its so much easier just to post on the 1st topic you read & sound stupid to everyone!! I'm good at it!

I just watched the video....170 seems fast...until george puts his foot in it...188 seem SO much faster than 170.....I can't imagine what the beast is like at 200+
