Chuck, that is one fine car... I hope the next owner takes as good care of it as you do. The thing is a time capsule!

I drooled over this car when it was for sale on ebay a few years back. If I remember, the price was right for a collector.
When I read the Chuck Z purchased this timepiece, I figured who better?

Chuck,
I've always admired your preservationist/enthusiast attitude, especially knowing that's something I couldn't be. I'm an driver/enthusiast. As it is sad to see us loosing a preservationist, am I'm happy to welcome you as a driver (when you find the right car). It is a really great place to be... good state of mind. Drive it, love it.

Hey Chuck,

I'm with Big Dave on that cleaning question. How do you do that?

Good luck on the sale and purchase of a car that you can drive for fun.

Cheers,

BD and John,

Because the car only had 1,400 miles on it and the cosmoline and undercoating were ~27 years old it all came off pretty easily. I took everyting off the bottom of the car I could including all the brake lines, fuel lines, main battery cable, battery box, exhaust system, heat sheilds, rear suspension, cross member behind the engine and gas tank to make access easier. While I had all the parts out I cleaned what I could, painted the exhaust system and had the battery box and gas tank strap powder coated. I did touch up the paint on the underside and cleared it. Again, because of the low miles it really wasn't that dirty relatively speaking it just took a really long time.

When you sell it and feel a little sentimental about it, DR has one the same color sitting on his property. It would be...uhh....a good "project" for you
I saw it and considered it the "anti-frog"

Would be great if Seinfeld or Leno actually stepped up to something like this.
Getting OT but does anyone know what Jerry has in his collection of Porsches?Leno's is pretty well known...website and all

Leno doesn't have much interest in Porsches as I recall - except the Carrera GT.

neither does Seinfeld unless its a 911 or 356...... Perhaps when they figure out Porsche has done some really great stuff besides the 911 like the 914, 944T 928 and 968. Not everyone would add in the Cayenne but after having a CS and a CTT I would.
