Ya have to sell it first.

I can't believe he is selling it. The next guy who owns it and tucks it away will make some serious coin down the road!!!

CHUCK...sorry you have to let it go!

Underside pics show how vurnerable fuel pump and entire rear corner is for dirt. It wouldn't take long in normal driving to ruin cars originality.

Chuck must have good reason for selling it. Hopefully it will end up in collection where its visible publicly at least time to time.

Ad isn't exacly accurate when it says 816th 928 built. ROW cars were made at same time meaning its somewhere close to 2k in actual order of coming out from production line.

Maybe Chuck finally has an opportunity to buy the Perlglanz GTS and needs the money for a down payment.

I was just looking at pics of that car last night, whacky colors but WOW, how amazing, right down to the replacement hides and purple seatbelts.

Hi guys,

Here's the skinny:

As much as I absolutely love this car, I am not a collector. My intention is, thankfuly not in a position where I have to sell the car. I intend on selling it to a collector who will preserve it as I have. I have owned 7 928s over the past 15 years many of which were in such great condition I was/am aprehensive about driving them. The mileage on this car speaks to the condition it is in and I will absolutely not drive it! I am in no hurry to sell it and understand that it will take a special buyer. I also understand that I may not get any bids as a result of my auction. That's okay, it is great advertising!

Truth is, I buy them, clean the hell out of them and then don't drive them. Frankly I'm tired of doing that! If I am going to have toys, I want something I can drive more. I have even considered selling the GTS for the same reason. I want a car that is not quite so rare and that can be replaced if something happens to it. Seems there have been quite a few posts lately about 928s getting wrecked.

Erkka, I have corrected my inaccuracy. The auction now states that it is the 816th car built for the NA market.

Weissach, if I added up all the time and thousands of dollars I spent getting the car back in this condition the figure would certainly be higher than my starting price. Perhaps not higher than my reserve but certainly higher than my starting price.

T and A (I had to say that.....) Thanks, I will NOT sell the car to someone who unless I can verify they have the same intentions as me and/or a Porsche collection.

Bill, even if pearlglanz green car came available I don't think I'd be interested. Same with the speed yellow GTS. I want something I can drive.....

Apparently Mr. Z must be in need of a new driveable project.

Unbeleivable car.

Hello Chuck,

I totally understand the position you're in...and Chuck, I want to help you. I would be willing to sacrafice my 87s4 so you can enjoy driving the car. I'll even do you the favor of taking that GTS off your hands so you can enjoy driving the S4.

In all seriousness, I think all of your cars are beautiful and it's obvious that you take pride when owning these machines. In the event that it doesn't sell on ebay, have you considered the BJ auctions. It seems like they already know your car?

Regards,
Roger 87s4

Above few first tens 500 more or less made before really doesn't matter that much. Having it right is just protection against possible later problems from buyer claiming false info in ad.

If it were inside EU I would seriously consider selling kidney and few other organs to get it. No matter that its automatic even.

Chuck has got his priorities straight... I never saw the reason for buying a low mile 928 that was near mint. I want to drive..the car wants to be driven...and it's all a joy...find a decent one and drive the heck out of it...

good luck on the sale...I do admit though..I love to see pristine examples of 928's out there..but personally could never own one for fear of ruining it...

later,
Tom
