Default The only two 928s left in Texas

Since the whole Texas gang went to SITM I think Sean and I were the only two 928s left in Texas. Thats why we both got top billing at a local car show in Decatur TX on the Court House Town Square. A lot of muscle cars from all years makes and modles but we decided to throw in some German muscle. Many people had never seen a 928 much less get a chance to look under the hood. I won first place in the 1980 - 1989 modified class and Sean won the 1980 - 1989 stock class. The ony other car that could come close was a Thirty Four 5 winow that was painted Porsche Red.

Yup, we had a good time.

Showed up to this show and parked a block away and about an hour later Brad decided it would be a good idea to enter ours for the fun of it. Didn't think we'd have a chance of winning and boom, 1st place in class.

Here's a very happy Brad and then mine.

I was really suprised at the amount (ok, i wasn't suprised, hick town) of people that spent a lot of time looking under the hood of our cars. Several elderly men were looking at Brads '82 then switching over to my '88 and then back. We were watching from a distance and they must have spent 20 minutes just comparing what was under the hood and figuring out how it worked.

We hung out with a couple that do Classic Club racing with a '73 911 and he just picked up a fresh 356B. They were showing a 1940 Ford that also got 1st in class. Great company that night. 2 couples were members of the local PCA (Maverick Region). I've never done a car show, this could be fun.

Hey, we're trying to make it back....right now we are im Knoxville. Paul Champagne decided he wanted to go shopping @ Sears fo new back tires and an alignment. i must say I won't argue with this logic as something went wrong back there-his two rear tires were causing vibration. Upon stopping to look at them, it was discovered they were totally bald, as in slicks.

Coulda been worse, we get a 2 hour stop out of it and some tool shopping too!

John and Mike left this morning todrive thru to Dallas, they're prolly in Arkansas as we type. I bet John's new custom rear diffuser is helping push them along. Be sure and ask Mike about his new hobby of custom bodywork....

My buddy pointed out the bald tires to me at the hotel. Glad to see he's taking care of them before it got ugly.

I didn't know about it until noon yesterday. Brad called asking if I had anything going on and then the quick car wash and drive to Brads started.
I didn't know you guys were going to Einstiens on Saturday or I would have been there.
