What, are you saying my 100mm front ride hight is not done right??
sorry to hear of the change, but glad to hear you are still in the game!
by the way, if anyone needs some 928 service, CT automotive in Campbell does great work. Ask for Chris. he has been working on 928s for as long as anyone. great work, expecially when creativity to fix something odd is needed.
rates are reasonalble.
We built the race cars there as well and solved some pretty odd problems.
Buy the special parts at Devek and have CT bolt them on now that there is a need for an alternative.

We are still here and still can supply your drink of choice Louie, just will no longer offer regular service and maintenance. Please stop by if you need help, If I am in the building, I will help.....and/or maybe Susan can assist.
We have done about all the service possible to 928's, and tom and I will still do performance modifications, development and testing on 928s...some may even be yours! But if you need your oil changed, an alignment or a trans rebuilt, we can no longer offer that as a regular service.
So Bill, we will still have a long and informative service section part of DEVEK days, and besides, you are have been servicing 928s now and maybe you can begin to host a service session or two! You probably know as much about servicing the HVAC system as I do, maybe even more. In fact, when is the next AC session at your house, I wanna come have mine done!
Now if you need a suspension and alignment at 100mm ride height, and really want it done right, or an 1100 rwhp monster, or really desire to break the Sledgehammer record..we can talk!
You know the saying, the cobblers children have no shoes...well, we want our daughter to have some shoes, and I want to get the shoes that I have now soled so I can go run and have some fun.....
Susan and I cant wait to begin having some fun with the 928's and the community again...it has been way too long!
Oh, and for Joe in SF, check out Hi Tec Auto in San Rafael. Susan and Marc know the owner Deven and can speak to you about him. http://www.hitecauto.com/index.php

Uh, I'm strictly an experienced amateur at this, helping others who want to do their own wrenching. I would not want to put myself out there as an expert quite yet. But, sure, I'll be glad to help you with your AC! After being disappointed by the service I received for a simple problem at a well-regarded AC repair shop, I decided I could do better or at least no worse myself. I know enough to solve common problems and I've been lucky not to encounter any real convoluted ones yet.
Anyway, I'm glad to hear DEVEK days will continue!

Good luck with the change in direction... and glad to hear that you will continue to develop and distribute parts. Auto repair is a tough industry in the bay area... it is after all the one of the most expensive places in the world to live and do business...
Good luck and thanks for all your help on our projects...
Marc & Susan,
I'll have to find another excuse to drive north other than stopping in to leave a car for service; Markus has gotten his s..t together so he is back servicing 928's with reasonable turn around times. I've been tinkering with my 84S (adding GTS brakes, suspsension, GT tranny, PSD, supercharger, etc...) - is the "DEVEK" (the 2 guys whose names comprise DEVEK) no longer a part of the 928 scene? Anyway, if you have continued "DEVEK days, I'll still drive up when I can to say hello. The Hawaiian is still running well. Best to you and family.

Wow, a tremendous loss for the 928 community in the Bay Area. Susan and company were a godsend for those of us without enough room, time and courage to wrench our own Sharks. Every year for the last 5 I would bring my 928 in for its annual service. After a careful review of what was done the previous years, Susan would recommend what needed to be done that year. Years of seeing 100’s of 928’s gave the team at Devek a never to be equaled again knowledge of our cars. Susan and the team at Devek knew what needed to be done to keep my car reliably on the road. Right now, I can get in my 17 year old 928 and drive anywhere, anytime knowing that my car will reliably get me there. I doubt I’ll be able to find a team anywhere who will be able to keep my car in its current state.
I’m going to miss you guys.
I just searched and found this thread. Devek has been my preferred source for my 944 parts for a couple years. I have been trying to connect with you through the old site and it says there is no forwarding. There are likely others who may think you are out of business and don't know how to contact you. Also your links and phone numbers here on the sponsor page are still Redwood City numbers and the old site address.
Just a note that if you updated the sponsor info and forwarding on your old site you might not loose as many parts customers.
I liked that CT was fairly close to where I lived.
CT did a clutch replacement job on my car that didn't need to be done (this was about 8-9 years ago) which turned out to be $$$ that I didn't need to spend. When I picked up the car, they said that they were having problems getting the (double-disk) clutch to fully disengage so my car was actually worse off. The new clutch had several years of drag issues. Hopefully they know their stuff better today than back then.
They did a timing belt waterpump job for me in 1995 that held up well (45k mi and 7 years before the next job) with no engine issues in that time. So it looks like they know how to put some things back together pretty well.
All in all, I can only give partial credit to these guys. Again, hopefully they know their 928s better now.
I had all of this done before I heard of Devek. Knowing Marc and Susan, they would have done more thorough diagnostic work on my clutch and would have it perfect before I arrive to pick up the car.

I am truly in a state of shock, but all good things must eventually come to an end. Thank you Susan for all your help in getting my car back out on the road and keeping my sanity. I always felt secure in knowing that my 928 was in your care. Good luck to you and your family. Hope to see you all soon.

You and I share similar experience and approach, I think. There are very few times I've been satisfied with "expert shops" and figured long ago (especially with a 928) that I could make a mistake at least 3 times over on the same repair and still be ahead of the costs and quality provided by others. Over time, the experience becomes the real asset.
Funny how having babies can make you reconsider your business model. Before my first was born I was happy with my business limping along and only able to support a couple of people. After, I really felt I had to turn it into something real. As she enters kindergarten it is almost 20X as big as when she was born.
