Almost Brand new 4.7 euro motor for sale
IF ANYONE needs a 4.7 motor, either euro or US, (will work for both), this is the motor for you .
As you know, Scot had a head gasket issue with this engine, but not related to the engine at all. (torque on heads were wrong)
so, he did beak the engine in well, it dynoed at 250rwhp without enough advance and had perfect compression in each cylinder. it has 2000 miles on it (mostly commuting to the track) never lasted more than 7 laps in a track session and only saw the track 4 times. basically, perfect. new rings, new bearings, new seals , its basically a brand new euro M28-11 with new components. we have pictures of the before and after pics.
He has given it to me to pay for the Winter build up of his new 5 liter short block and the install of it into his race car. so, I am the owner of the block and will testify to the new shape it is in. the engine probably has less than 1000miles on it. (mostly all street miles during break in)
Its a short block, but I can sell it with US heads and US intake runners and throttle body as well.
Let me know if anyone is interested. Its a M28-11 we dont know the exact year, but it is probably from an 1980 4.7 euro. i could get the engine serial number, but i dont thin that matters much.
no crank sensor, in fact , no flywheel. (well we do have one we could toss in but its not the one we are using in scots car) Just a short block.
Its basically a brand new engine that has been barely broken in.
new seals, new rings, new bearings, all taking a euro 4.7 and just disasembling it and replacing the wear components
I'd say $1700 plus shipping of $300 in the US

Between the two of us, we can help someone build a pretty hot little motor. all we need now is the euro intake and heads.

Still for sale and we need the room. its stitting an engine stand , cylinders oiled up and engine wrapped in plastic.
I think we can do $1500 including shipping to someone in the US. obviously, we would prefer someone in the Bay Area.

because it isnt questionable. its basically brand new, and any euro short block that is just "stuck" in, creates all sorts of risks, unless you know its detailed history.
#2, $2500 or $3500 ends up being $3000 or $4000 , so using simple math when you add shipping, that's $1500 to $2500 more! So, get a brand new engine, find some euro heads and a euro intake and you have a brand new euro engine!
Trust me, we bought a used euro engine, stuck it in, and it grenaded due to unknown history (after a few hours of operation). guess what costs more, the engine or putting the engine in!!! ????
Now, does that answer your question? New vs used is the short answer

This is logic I have never managed to grasp Matt. Are you interested in this engine? If not, what is the purpose of your post? Why buy this engine at 1500 when you can get another at 2500? Maybe price?
Are you saying that Kibbort should never be able to sell this engine? No-one should buy it? He should just throw it away or give it free? WHat are you saying? No offense Dude but WTF.

H, The engine has been for sale for 5 months. I don't think I killed his potential sale. Actually, I think his reply to me clears up a lot of potential buyer questions and would help a sale.
I hope he does sell it.... so he can afford to come east to race sometime.

exactly!
and, including shipping, its more like $1000. try and have an engine rebuilt for under $1000. I dont know about you , but i would want a new engine vs ANY suspect used engine. ill never do that again!
