Keith should be chiming in, 3...2...1...
Seriously, there isn't much activity in O.C. San Diego guys set things up more often than anyone. Dr. Bob does some great maintenance GTG's. They are usually posted on Socal but look to Rennlist to find most of the events.

I am contemplating another Karting event, this time in So.OC (Irvine). 928 owners apparently love to drive other people's cars (karts) I guess this might be a good time to see if there is any interest out there and when...

Bill-
It has been a few months since I've done anything car-related, If karting can be scheduled between various soccer, softball and gymnastics chauffering duties, count me in!
Chris-
It is tricky getting large #'s of 928 owners together around here, if only because between Donut Derelicts, VCR and C&C, there's already plenty of car shows to attend. Of course, I'm absolutely going to make it to Sharktoberfest again this year. On the rare weekend when I tackle some major maintenance bit, I will usually annouce it here so people can either come and laugh and point, or (in the case of Dr. Bob) magically appear and bail me out. I (still) have an intake R&R and shocks/springs to do, I'm hoping to get to one of these in June or July.
In the mean time, if you're going to VCR, yell and I'll try to make the effort to come up. The early morning things are actually easier with small kids......

If you are looking for activities limited to 928s, then Sharktoberfest is the BIG one for the year. There are lots of activities for Performance Groups such as Village Coffee Roaster in Woodland Hills every Sunday morning, albeit the last Sunday of each month is always the best. There is a midnight fun run this Friday (tomorrow), leaving from the Alhambra area. Also, on Saturday May 26th, there is a run from Alhambra to the New Crystal Cove in Irvine. We usually meet up at 6am, and cruise down to Irvine. On Sunday, May 27th, there is a Dyno Day gathering in Chino, which will feature free coffee and morning treats. You can also have your car dyno'd at the same time. Whatever you want, we have it here in Southern California. PM me if you need any specific information. BTW....Check out and sign up on the SoCal 928 board at MSN.

You SoCal guys should try to throw some type of food (chum) in to intice shark owners. Juan said something about tacos and BAM ,3 sharks show up . Works for us NorCal sharks ,wouldnt hurt to try.Worst that could happen is dinner alone (more for you )

Mr. Swift has appointed me "Honorary Shark Owner" for my vigilant attendance, and I must concur.
However, it does slightly pale considering the S4, a noble gesture on his part none the less.

we should meet at precision motorwerks - most of our cars are regulars there already... just gotta bring food for jerry, or he'll have to get his share off your plate
the super euro sundays are cool for sure - tons of primo exotics and eye candy. followed by a fun drive through mulland to the PCH, down to a local beachside seafood eatery for brunch/lunch and off through the canyons homeward makes a great car day. cars run great at sea level too

Keith's mouth is taped shut for good reason. We half-kid about being able to drag the many owners out of the woodwork for local events. It takes free work on their cars, free food, or some combination of those to get folks into the seat and on their way. We've scheduled driving events where just a couple people show up. When I schedule a clinic day for something, the same hard-core folks show up but seldom do we see new faces. Maybe folks' cars run so well that there's no reason to come out. Maybe driving the minivan is OK, so why take the 928 out?
Bill Swift-- I'm all over another karting day, especially if it's K1 in Irvine. Even Carlsbad is OK, but I'll come down 15 this time.
I live just minutes from the bottom of Angeles Crest Highway, and I do some sort of tour up that road at least once a week, as a stress relief session or for "tire testing". Anybody want to go? Rob R, Larry M, Rob E, Keith W, Ron S, Mike O'B from Pasadena and a few others have been along. We're getting to the time of year when it's (relatively) safe to do an evening tour. Want to do a TSD event where you can't get lost or off course? Got one!
This Sunday is Mother's Day so no touring, but the following Saturday or Sunday might be perfect for an afternoon (after the scooter pilots are off) tour. The loop on Angeles Crest is about 80 miles total, most of it on sections that are open on one end only so no through traffic. The only folks who are on it are folks who want to be there. Start at 3 or 4 PM, do the loop, grab a bite with whomever feels the urge to join us, and on your way home by 7 or 8. No racing, no stunts, just smooth driving that won't kill your tire or gas budgets. We can start in La Canada (that's the Canada north of LA...) and have a blast. I'm 80% sure I won't be going on that big charity golf vacation in Palm Springs with Karen but who knows...
