Default Shocked an Evo

Had a kid roll up next to me in his Evo and he kept hitting his Blow Off valve So I stomped it and gave him the sound of a SC V 8 At the next light rolled down the window and said nice car and he loved the sound. Then he say my SUPER CHARGER sticker ( Thanks Tim Murphy) and Asked about the horse power. 400 at the wheels was my answer with a smile. WOW was his reponce followed by a OH ****. I then told him it was not a good night to get cuffed and stuffed and he agreed. But it was easy to tell he wanted some of this. We then pulled off at a BP poped the hoods and took a look at each others rides. He was surprised to see a 5 liter 32 valve V 8 with a SC. Truth is I wanted some of him to but not worth the risk. Anybody know how the SC cars measure up against one of these Box Rockets??

Probably a question of distance/speed. You've got a lot longer legs, but a lot more mass to get moving off the line. Depending on the hookup at launch, it might take a few seconds to pass him. But you would gain ground and continue to from the start.

I had a guy with three teeth pull up to my window yesterday and say, "That thing got a V8?" Yes!
"How many HP?" 441 at the wheels!
"That thing sounds fricken awesome!" Thanks.

I'm pleased to announce ya would have kicked his *** !, I was at a top marque track day in my standard 88 S4, there was a couple of Boxers, Lotus Elise's a Skyline, a 993 twin turbo and a race prepared Evo (roll cage, interior ripped out, single bucket seat, arrived on a trailer) they all got arsey as they where all over me on the tight bends but couldn't catch up never mind pass on the straights!
The 993 however did whip my ***, but the Evo boy was well pissed at an 18 year old car leading the way-but saying that it was a track day with no silly moves being made!

EVOs are no slouches. With an exhaust upgrade and upped boost the stock turbo will get an EVO 8 trapping around 110. But stock, they are low 13 second 105mph cars. A to4e upgrade w/20psi would make it a different animal.

Unless it was an Evo X... and I think those do not have the 4G63T anymore. I could be wrong... but who knows if the new engine they're putting in the Evos are as HP hungry as the 4G63T.

If it was the 4g... exhaust, boost controller, and fuel pump would cause that car to run right with you, maybe even scare you a bit.

Why are people so concerned with the drag strip performance of cars that were designed to take turns?

My ex-STI would get up to 165 mph in no time. I think the STI was quicker than my SC "up to 165 mph" but it still felt like a heavily modified Corolla, no connection wth the driver, just purily fast with no soul.

Because it is still a measure of performance. You know, the vehicles ability to accelerate. Hell, they even test pickup trucks.
