Let's not forget, the smaller, less quality built cars, the faster they feel. FEEL being the key word here! The 928 gives little indication of its brute force. It's size weight and incredible build quality all lend to the mundane feel of it's acceleration. But watch the speedo and then its exciting.

It has some history behind it. Not like Porsche, though.

EVO's are deceptively quick. Those guys usually increase the boost to stratospheric levels and they have 4wd so they hook up very well. Its a shame they look like an econo box.

Also the pumped up evos with 20psi or more boost usually have the life expectancy of a Japanese beetle. The bic lighter of import tuners ,so to speak....

Oh, and I kept it at 20lbs of boost on a daily basis. It didn't hurt it. That engine is bullet proof!

Careful- some of those nutty STI and EVO guys are getting into the 9 second @145 bracket at the drags. And they drive them on the street...
Kind of annoying, actually..

As I was standing there looking at his car there really was nothing fancy about it other then the monster engine. One could have taken a older Ford Escort or any ecno car and dropped in the same style of engine and it was still just what it is, a box with a hot motor. Just nothing fancy or sexy about it. But I am sure every 18 year old kid would be over the moon to have one.

My old Supra has a 140k miles on the 7mgte(i-6) and have made 420 @ the wheels for 3 years. Not to mention numerous passes on the 1/8th and 1/4 mile and it's still going strong.

Wade the Supras have long since proven themselves-no argument there! My turbo buddy's shop specializes in them almost exclusively, just does the others to fill the books out. I would not mind owning a last gen. Supra. But the ****boxes with the big turbos will never warm a spot in my garage.

Marcuito, don't get me wrong, the STI's are bulletproof car and if you want to go fast with the peace of mind of a full warranty and Subaru's reliability, that is the way to go. Have you ever looked in the engine bay and the truck for instance? Most hidden or out of sight places have residue or overspray paint, mine had some very light surface corrotion before I sold it (I kept it for a year). I will alway remember it as a econo Japanese car with a very powerful engine.
Btw, my wife was bit!@#ng I had to sell it because I was driving the SC more than the STI.
