Get well Louie, thoughts and prayers are with you!

Here's to many more years of 928'ers waiting and watching with awe, the magic emerging from the Ott Skunkworks.

Actually that would not have been good. It's lower doses of aspirin that paralyze platelets. Higher doses paradoxically increase platelet aggregation. You don't want that. You did the right thing. (my old Doctor of Pharmacology degree speaking).

I heard from Tom Cloutier on Sunday that you had this unfortunate experience last week but that you were "OK". It was still upsetting to hear about it. I am glad you were discharged home rapidly and are recovering. Hope you are back in the lab very soon.

Hi Louie,

That is a shock to here... you worried us a bit...

Good luck and listen to the house warden as much as you can... as with all men you one can only listen for so long before the urge to wrench will take you back to the shop... I guess life will always be a balance between resting and recouping vs working yourself (sometime too hard)... try to rest but the healty thing is to get back in action when your and do as much as the bidy allows...

Welding is going well... Just got in some 0.49 wall 2.5" 304 stainless

thanks for all the advice...

Take Care,

Loren Olson

Louie,

I'm sooooo pleased that your "limp mode" worked like it should until you could get to the MD fuel pump mechanics in Portland. I know you're getting lots of advice from those of us whose 928s would never be the same without your continuing R&D work. But, most of all, we like you and your non-judgemental, friendly manner (and solid, no- BS, verifiable knowledge of 928s). If you were experimenting with a mixture of high octane and Viagra...please let me know soon!

Hi H^2. I'm feeling really good today. Better than yesterday, etc. My wife won't let me in the shop for anything useful yet and she's being supported by my turncoat neighbor. They are talking about 2 weeks, but I don't know 2 weeks from what?? However, I am sneakily working on some of the final electronics design I need to do for my car computer driven data acquisition and control stuff. The time isn't being wasted.

I was setting up to tow a dead 928 from my neighbors place to mine when this happened. No worries about any connection to that other enjoyable activity. I don't need the V stuff so can't comment. One odd thing is that for the first few days out of the hospital, after I ate, I'd get tired and have to lay down for a while. My interpretation of that is that the stomach needs some blood to digest the food and there wasn't enough left for the rest of me. Sooo---. If you are planning on needing a bunch of blood for some recreational use, and you feel it tires you, do not use an artifical enhancement to rob blood from the brain, and/or stress the pump beyond capacity. NOS can be good, but only if you have sufficient fuel to handle it.

Seems like a Bosch 044 pump should be useful as a backup.

Louie,

The Viagra/NOS anology breaks me up. That also explains why my brain doesn't work when the blood rushes to deal with other challenges at hand. I usually over react to most medications so I'm afraid of what might happen if I tried the V stuff. Might be like driving down your mountain road towards the Columbia River...full throttle with no brakes. Would be fun at first but soon could get dangerous. Let me know if you want some help moving ailing 928s to your garage. I excel at a couple of 928 tasks and I have experience pushing dead rigs...although a shot of NOS may be helpful.

Keep truckin'

Harvey
