Hey Louie,

Really sorry to hear that..hope it was very minor attack..you know..no need for the paddles though..just lay down behind your car...and fire it up....the exhaust pulses will "start you up".......

yep..the mid point of the Heckowee is of course your house (if you are still up for a large group of 928 owners taking over ) Hope you have that dyno fired up since I believe some are hoping on doing some runs...

On the PCA..we don't have anything against the PNWR (local Seattle region)...and have on occasion done some of their events. It's more of a timing thing..they have moved their Drivers Ed events to Thur and Frid..making it hard to attend...and their drivers skill days are usually booked out by the time we get to them. And their tours usually fall on some of our events....but that said...pop on out to Louies next saturday..and you'll get your fill of 928's for sure ..

later,
Tom

Hi Louie,

Thanks for the offer! I am sorry to hear about your heart attack. I hope you are feeling better and recovering well. Steve mentioned the recent rumble in your 928 with the 600-hp. She's gotta be an impressive beast.

I've just joined the PacNW928 Yahoo group. Unfortunately, I will not be able to make it to Heckowee. I am shuttling between Singapore and Portland over the next couple of months. I leave Portland next weekend. I will definitely look you up when I get to your area during one of my road trips later in the summer.

Hi Ken:

The 928 sprung a small coolant leak during my return journey from the Arrive-and-Drive event yesterday. The coolant sensor kept coming on. I was able to stop at a roadside gas station off I-5 at Woodburn, fill her up with some water (could not find phosphate-free coolant) and was able to drive her home. Surprisingly, the water temp did not go into the red zone. I can't tell the location of the leak, but have yet to take a closer look. It looks like I will not be able to work on her for another three weeks until I return from Singapore

I'll swing by and say hi when I am back in Portland! See you soon.

I'm looking forward to seeing y'all next Saturday. I do expect (hope) I'll be strong enough to do some dyno runs. I'm making good progress each day, but the hole I'm in is pretty deep. Probably someone else will have to strap the cars down and do the manual effort stuff. Of course the shop is a mess and I'd like to get that cleaned up first. The house warden doesn't permit much activity. I have been able to get out to the shop a few times, but that is about all the activity I can do (walk out and back). She doesn't have to tell me I can't do it, I know by how I feel and I turn grey color. That's getting less and less each day though. Ken's idea of a programmable pacemeker was good. Sort of like a boost controller. I don't have, and don't need, a pacemaker. The doc said it was a significant event whatever that really means. The echogram people were pleased with the heart function and apparently it's pumping efficiency is still within the normal range. Kinda neat to see it moving so much while pumping and to see the valves flapping back and forth. I was pretty sure I'd have poppet valves. They said I was one lucky guy.

Thanks to you all for the good wishes/thoughts/prayers for my speedy recovery.

Louie,

I can help with the dyno. I was going to come out early anyway. I'll even volunteer my car to do a test run, to make sure everything is working 5x5.

Wow Louie, hope your doing better.

Bad news for the heckowee tour. I was up HWY410 this weekend and both passes are closed and will be till the end of the month unless the weather gets hot real quick. Sent the info to our event cordinator and we will see what he decides to do with it. May have to put it off for a few weeks, But thats ok by me Gives Louie time to rest before we invade his peace full home.

Oh man, sorry to hear about your recent event. Its weird because I almost feel like I know some of the members of the web from reading posts and following the progress of their projects. This makes it seem almost like family when someone has a crisis.

Anyway, it is good news that the echo shows your cardiac function to still be within normal limits. You will still need to follow Dr.'s advice though especially if meds are prescribed. These can be very important to avoid negative remodeling of the heart after an infarction. Also, if you have the option for cardiac rehab, do it.

If you have any questions, feel free to PM me. This is what I do for a living and I would be more than happy to act as an interpreter for some of the medical lingo.

Get better soon.

Thanks very much. I was taking Lopid & Lipitor for cholestrol and trigyliceride control as well as Dyazide for elevated BP. All those parameters were within spec. and had been for years. Of course I now have a fistfull of new pills. No more Dyazide due to low potassium levels. The meds will be taken exactly as the doc wants. There is a local cardiac re-hab facility and I'll enroll in that as soon as the doc recommends. I think that will be in about a month. Diet change won't be much different as I was on a low fat/low sodium diet for years. I'll be more strict on adhering to it.

Thanks Ken. I'll just have to see as the week goes on. Right now, I couldn't even meet for lunch. However, each day is getting very noticeably better. Guess it'll depend on what the house warden thinks too. I just about gave her a heart attack a few minutes ago. One of my computer speakers quit and I was laying on the floor under the desk checking connections. She walked in, saw me, and let out a shriek that could have raised the dead.

Louie -

Any thought from your docs about a coronary artery stent?
