what's up w/ the glow in the dark door handle dots?
Hey Y'all,
I've been meaning to ask this for awhile, but I keep forgetting: which 928s have the round, glow-in-the-dark spots on the interior door handles?

They tell people where the door handles are. Works day or night. Lots of people used to look for the handle like it was some kind of secret. Now I just say "by the white dot".

Heinrich and I were just discussing this very thing last night. I think it started with the '87's, and according the H, the dots on the 87's are stickers, that can be peeled off.
On the '88's (like mine) and later years, they are actually plastic buttons that are imbedded in the handle.
Personally I'm not a fan of them.

Ed,
Thanks Ed, that's exactly the kind of info I was hoping for, but yet Mckenzie has 'em on his '84? I guess you don't have 'em on the '85, then?
My '88 has the embedded type, too.

But it is funny that we were discussing this very thing last night, and sure enough, it pops up on rennlist the very next day.

I bought them for $3 each, they were stickers, I think from one of the big 3. They weren't original.

My 91 model has them. But I'm amazed how many people still cannot find the door opener. Usually, they search in the arm rest, sometimes press the black button to open the storag compartment, or scratch along the sides of the doors...
The 87 and 88 factory brochures don't show them.
The factory sales information I have on changes for 88 does not mention them.
I don't remember, if my 88 had them.

Well, I think it would be cool to drill them out, cut a round frosted lens and fit it to the hole. THEN, I would rig an LED inside them to come on with the interior lights triggered by the headlight switch.
