Wow - you have quite a project there. But once you have it at Dave's (SharkSkin) level, or better, it'll be an awesome time caplsule. I love the Cork interior - hope you can restore it to its original beauty!

That's sweet dude! My fav color combo! You'll have a very nice and special 928 when you are done. Couple guys here on Renn do an excellent job on leather.

3000teeth,

Nice to see another '79 saved. I've been there and can give you some pointers if you need it.

I've got some OB leather seats for sale if you are interested. They are in relatively good shape (normal wear for a '79) but are dark brown and would require a re-dye to match your interior. $200 plus shipping. PM me if you are interested.

Thanks Scott. Those look great, but I just bought some yesterday from Juvious (Steve) for the same price. He's shipping them today. I could certainly use some pointers, tho, so I appreciate the offer.

Enjoy the journey you are a long way from your destination...check out the front lower ball joints they appear to be original aluminum carriers which can wear and pop apart letting the wheel fall over...

Good call --thanks. Yeah, it's fuel tank and power steering leak fixes this Saturday, then suspension next.

Travis, that doesn't look nearly as bad as you described on the outside -- the interior needs a lot of help but the paint doesn't look as bad as you described!

For a moment there i though i was looking at my car. I love the Cork color. Shame Porsche stopped offering it. It looks best with a dark blue.

Heres some interior shots of my '79 to help inspire you.

Travis: Let me know if you need any help with anything or use of a lift for any of your projects. If you want to bring it by for an inspection on he lift, let me know. Most weekend days are wrenching days at my house.

Hey Bill --that's an offer I can't refuse. Thanks man! I could use the lift for doing the front-end. I think I'll do the tank at home tho, in case something breaks and I have to let it sit for a few days while I order a part. But after this weekend, all bets are off. I gotta get it in good shape for May 12th!

yeah --you can't really see the scuff on the driver's side door and front fender from the pics. It looks like it was keyed and then someone tried to buff the scratch out with a power sander.
