Thanks, Mark. I'll post more about the details of the car later, but the motor is mainly stock. I pulled the pan and replaced the rod bearings, installed the accusump, running Amsoil, solid mounts, changed a few gaskets, installed a catch tank, new injectors, Autothority chips, stainless 3.5" exhaust, timing belt/WP, adjusted the cam timing, and a few other doodads. It runs pretty strong for having 100k plus on it. I hope the engine will last until I can afford to build something better. I'm hoping for the mid/high 200's at the wheels.

Mark,
Impressive!
Is there a CF hatch lid waiting to go on?
The remainder of the parking brake is going to rattle around? It's pretty easy to remove all the cables and shoes, and saves 10lbs (including the handle).

Awesome work, Red - love those seats!

For anybody who wants to remove sound deadening tar from a car, here's my method:
First, park the project car in an unheated garage that's well below freezing while howling winter winds whip the northern wastelands outside.
Second, get a flat-bladed air chisel hooked up to the compressor, then get some good goggles and earplugs (and a parka, and gloves). It should take about an hour to shatter and jackhammer the frozen tar off the steel, and will scratch and maybe slightly dimple the car's interior panels. Clean up is picking up the big shards and shop-vac'ing the little ones.

Very nice work! You should have no trouble getting 260- 270 rwhp. My 85 made 266 with nothing but chips. In a lightened car, it will be fun...for a little while.. Lol!

Beautiful. It's easy to see how much time and skillful work you've put into it. It almost seems a shame to drive it and get it dirty . . . That thing will be a ton of fun on a track. I'm looking forward to the pics & videos.

***UPDATE***
HAHA!
I was searching for something else and came upon this thread from over a year ago. MAN, what optimistic thinking! Granted, I have only worked on the car about 2 months total since then, but *now* I am actually 2 weeks away from finishing. The car is actually track ready, but a few cosmetic things need to be worked out--vinyl graphics (bought a vinyl cutter and using adobe illustrator to design), new rear bumper, new piece of lexan for the hatch, paint wing, etc.
Expect a full write-up and thank-goodness-I'm-done-with-this-damn-thing thread in about 2-3 weeks. A track day will be scheduled for the same time frame. For now, here is a sneak peek of what it looked like last evening when I took it for a 15 minute cruise around the neighborhood:
