Default Ordered Rennbay PS Rebuild Kit

Well, I've decided that I'm going to rebuild the rack myself. I'm pretty mechanically inclinded but I'm more of a visual person. If I watch someone do a process, I can recreate 99% of the time. I wish there was a video but I'm gonna take a crack at it anyway. What's the worst that can happen?

Wish me luck and I'm open for suggestion and tips.

here is the link http://www.rennbay.com/
They mainly focus on 944 parts but have a few 928 parts.

Travis (rennbay) posts on the list too so you can ask him if you have problems....

I have the Rennbay PS kits in stock and can recommend them.
Let me know if I can help.
I also have the link to the video on how to do it.

There is a video for the PS Rack kit? I think you're referring to the video for the PS Pump rebuild kit.

I called Rennbay and spoke to, I believe, the guy that runs/owns Rennbay. I'm horrible with names. I know mine because it's on a card in my wallet with my picture. He said that he had the footage for the Rack kit but hasn't had time to edit it. He's getting married on Saturday. Sounds like a weak excuse to me. Just kidding.

The kit should be here this week. I might tackle in the next couple of weeks. Depends on what the Boss Lady has in store for me.

Hey cool,

I just got mine and I'm planning on doing the same thing next week.

Good luck and let me know how you do. I'll do the same.

Angel,
You are right - I was thinking of the PS kit.
Sorry.

Hey Guys

As soon as this wedding stuff gets over I will publish the rack video and hopefully have some time to work on the some more of them. The pump seal video that I did already is floating around somewhere, I think Roger has it on his site. It's also on www.rennbay.com/kbase under the power steering pump section.

Best of luck Travis. Any donuts in a rented Explorer planned for the wedding? If so we want video this time.

I ordered a pump seal kit from Rennbay and it did not fit my application. I think the kits are for newer models. Talked with Travis and sent it back for a refund no problem. I think the newer pumps are simpler to reseal than the earlier versions.

If your pump looks like the one I posted pics of in this thread then I don't think the rennbay kit works. The distinguishing mark is that big hex cap near the banjo fitting.

I rebuilt an early pump with the ZF kit, but it didn't, um... Work exactly as planned. 1500 miles into the bliss, the belt melted, as the pump froze, lots of smoke, etc. The newer pumps look, god forbid, easier.
