Old Bugger Seats Rule

I thought that the 12 way (soon to be heated) comfort seats in my S4 would be the ultimate, but I got a chance to sit in an '84 the other day, and there is no question that the older seats are superior for plushness. I've ridden in a lot of ratted out older cars, but this one is pristine, and its a huge difference. Kind of like sitting on the equivalent of a pillow top mattress. Makes me want to experience the old style sport seats in pristine condition. Could be the ulimate to have the newer 12 way heated electronics loaded into the older style sport seat.
Anyone try a retrofit?

Most comfortable seats were in my 84 5 spd. Try some in cloth instead of leather. Mui beuno.
I did have some old skool sports in my 911. They were the bomb (as the kids say) too bad the car was a POS.

The seats in dad's '83 are quite cushy, but the drying leather has made them a bit harder than they used to be. Personally I prefer the 993 seats, but there's no doubt the early 928's seats are more comfortable.

Your so right. I havnt been in a car yet with a more comfortable and a more natural feeling body position than the seats in my OB. My wife refers to the cockpit as a "leather womb". It doesnt take long for the comfy seats and engine drone to put her to sleep.

Heinrich, are you asking about the seats or his "tushie"?

That's the beauty of boost or stroking, it don't matter.
I'm going heavy on the sound deadening, putting on an exhaust that won't yield max numbers but that I'm hoping is going to sound wicked, because with hopefully 600 ft lbs of torque at the crank, it really isn't going to matter going down the road, only on a dyno or at the strip, and I plan on being on the road much more than either of those two other places. I'm building a powerful engine so I can load the car up with various other items and still have a good performer. So, if I need a crane to lower the OB seats in place, so be it, I'll be nice and comfy once their in.
Dude you were there, in the shop. Al's car. Currently on the lift with the front end torn of the motor about to get a TB/WP change before track attack.

I can't get over what an extreme difference it is. I wonder what caused the design change. My comfort seats feel like concrete in comparison.
