I'm in LOVE! Where did you find that picture? Are there anymore of this car..inside or out? Those are TechArt Formula's. (My Fav) Jusdging by the looks of the fitment, they are made for the 928 (to the tune of $3800+ for a set) I just can't tell if they are 18's or 19's, but compared to my car, they look like 19's. Need more info!

Slate grey is a great colour, a friend has a Gt in it , if you guys love it in the pics, wait till you see it in the flesh.

Same colour 38A/83K Amethyst, similar wheels

Those are most likely Antera wheels. Little more common than TechArt's.

Painted factory wheel was option XD9. It was probably introduced in middle of '90 MY production and added into Exclusive department option list for '92 MY. D90, Cup I and Cup II versions were all painted little differently.

These are probably Speedline wheels. Possibly from the factory.

Unpaited TechArt's in German GTS.

Schumacher makes a nice line of chargers. The better ones do a quick diagnostic on your battery.
With a new, healthy battery, all you need is a maintainer. Harbor Freight sells one that works really well. It's only $8 when on sale.

Agreed with the PS2s. They're not only quiet, but I can swear that my new PS2s give a less jarring ride than my previous SXX Pilots. I actually prefer the subtle tread design over the radical looking directionals than many tires have these days.
The fact that the p.o. put PS2's on your car when it was his, indicates that he didn't cut corners when it came to laying out a little $ on this GTS. Probably a good indication of how it was taken care of/maintained.
Great observation J.P. The condition really is amazing. Outside of the mileage there wasn't any apparent difference between it and the 60K + cars Michael has.

Thanks for the charger tips! I have some time to find one coming up.

Willhoit may be a straight-up sales guy, but he should not have left you with the notion that these cars require a trickle charger for some dumb reason. There are lots of threads here about finding excess current draws, called parasitic drain. It can be very easy to find or a bit harder. Do a search of the message board and you will find some good ideas. You can put an ammeter across from the battery ground post to the body then pull the ground wire. Lay the ammeter in the rear hatch area so you can read it from the outside and close the hatch and all doors and wait. If the current draw with all the lights off is more than 60ma, you have a problem. It may be productive then to start pulling fuses from the CE panel until the drain drops to normal. If that doesn't tell you which circuit is involved, then it gets a bit more complicated, but the source can be found and fixed and you can use that trickle charger for something else.
Wow, thanks Bill! I'll take a look at that. Really good information for someone who knows nothing about electrical. Ryan

I found it on a google image search. After looking again you're right, it's a German site carrying TechArt gear. I can't read any of it. I'll try to add the link...

I like em'!!!! I've seen a lot of same color wheels but it seems the trick is to leave the rim the metal color.

I've been on the English TechArt site. I doesn't appear they support anything but current autos. It may be different if I actually contacted them.

Does anyone know the story about the protective door strip on the GTS? Was it an option? Although mine has it I've always preferred the car without.

Yes option 418

I agree I am not a fan for looks but the aluminum doors are vulnerable to dents without them. I never leave my car in a parking lot so I don't worry so much.

Do you know if the trim is attached with adhesive? Paint underneath? Can they be removed?

Unfortunately, not without leaving obvious signs of them being there.

They are held on by adhesive and clips. So the clips would leave holes that would need to be filed and painted.

To be honest I am not a fan but your car is perfect as is and I would live with them. I find the strips look better on some colors than others and yours look fine.

It depends. If the 'rub strip' was factory installed, there are pins on the strip that attach thru holes in the body.

On my GTS, the rub strips were installed after market by the dealer, so they are applied with adhesive.

When I had some body work done recently I elected to have the strips reinstalled after paint - they don't detract from the lines of a dark-coloured car as much as they do with lighter coloured ones:
