Congrats on your new ride. Wow, that is a sweeeet color. I have seen Slate Grey on Boxsters, 993s, 968s, even on a 911 turbo at our local dealership, and I honestly have to say that I have never seen Slate Grey look better than on the 928!
Before I knew much about the 928s, I remember occasionally seeing a cool-looking grey 928 drive past my office when I was driving into work in the mornings. Haven't seen that car for a while now.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy many happy miles. I've been looking at Wilhoit's cars too, from a distance, lol, though. He sure has some desirable looking examples.

There were also a few 928s that had the spokes of the rims painted in body color by the Exclusive department (I believe it was an X option).
I could help you with the clear turn signal and side marker lenses and the Euro fog light trim conversion, but don't know who offers the TechArt rims.

Nice looking car. Great color.
I've got Michelin PS2's, 245/40x17 front, 275/40x17 rear, not interference problems. Great tire for this car.
Congratulations.

Welcome.
My GTS is happier with a trickle charger too. I hard wired a connector cable from the jumper stud to come out the front grill. That way you can use it on the road without sacrificing security. The GTS cig lighter is dead when the ignition is off.

No this one is dead when the ignition is on. It's just dead. I've checked wiring – it all looks good. The little white light doesn't illuminate and the element never heats. My only concern is for the compressor if I ever flat in the middle of nowhere. That's the next thing to tackle.
I like the hard wiring idea. I'm off tomorrow for a charger...any suggestions? As it sits I'm planning a visit to Sears for lack of a better idea.
By the way, thanks for the great welcome everybody! I'm thrilled with the car and discovering so many voices on rennlist.
One last tidbit. It's nothing but I like the subtlety of it. The screws on my license plate were rusty (no front plate even though MO law requires it. I refuse ). The only plate screws I could find were silver so I painted them flat black. No one will ever notice nor care but the little touches give me a grin.
WHAT AN AWESOME CAR!!!! What was Porsche thinking in 95? It's a shame really.

Very nice looking car! I really like the color combo, and it looks to be in fantastic shape for the mileage....and a 5 speed to boot
Schumacher makes a nice line of chargers. The better ones do a quick diagnostic on your battery.
With a new, healthy battery, all you need is a maintainer. Harbor Freight sells one that works really well. It's only $8 when on sale.
Agreed with the PS2s. They're not only quiet, but I can swear that my new PS2s give a less jarring ride than my previous SXX Pilots. I actually prefer the subtle tread design over the radical looking directionals than many tires have these days.
The fact that the p.o. put PS2's on your car when it was his, indicates that he didn't cut corners when it came to laying out a little $ on this GTS. Probably a good indication of how it was taken care of/maintained.

Congrats!
BTW, the car, GTS or not, should not need a trickle charger unless you are not going to drive it for more than 3-4 weeks. Willhoit may be a straight-up sales guy, but he should not have left you with the notion that these cars require a trickle charger for some dumb reason. There are lots of threads here about finding excess current draws, called parasitic drain. It can be very easy to find or a bit harder. Do a search of the message board and you will find some good ideas. You can put an ammeter across from the battery ground post to the body then pull the ground wire. Lay the ammeter in the rear hatch area so you can read it from the outside and close the hatch and all doors and wait. If the current draw with all the lights off is more than 60ma, you have a problem. It may be productive then to start pulling fuses from the CE panel until the drain drops to normal. If that doesn't tell you which circuit is involved, then it gets a bit more complicated, but the source can be found and fixed and you can use that trickle charger for something else.
