Default Is there a way to adjust my Headlights? (PICS)

The passenger side headlight sits lower that the driver's side and I'd like to know if there is a way to adjust it to match.
The first picture is of the Passenger's side.
The second picture highlight the disparity between the two headlights.

If you pull the fender liner out you will see the workings and linkages. There is also some adjustment where the bar goes through the fender from the engine compartment. It is pretty simple once you get it apart and see how it all works.

It looks like the PS light is just rotated back a little, rather than actually sitting lower. There is a bump stop that the light rests against. Yours may be simply missing a rubber bumper; if that's good, then just crank it up till it matches.

Are they aimed correctly when lit? If so, then I agree with SharkSkin. But if the alignment is off when in the up position, you may need to play with the adjusters on the linghts (the 2 little holes in the chrome rings).

You mean this stop?
I don't feel any rubber behind the bolt. Is it a part I can order?

I'm pretty sure there ought to be a bumper there -- might want to double-check with one of the big 3. It's possible that you need the whole adjuster.

There is a grommet that goes there (part number 914 504 319 00 according to PET).

Now that I'm home and looking at PET, I see that Micheal has the right P/N for the grommet. Also, it looks as though it attaches to a standard bolt -- nothing special.

I found it for $4.00 at a couple of the Porsche parts suppliers. What a bargain.

Probably the cheapest parts I'll buy for car.

Thanks guys.

Well, I'm back on this subject. I got the rubber piece on top of the adjustment bolt head and it didn't really help. Everytime I go into the garage and see these lights, it drives me batty.

I've played around with the light but can't figure it out. I need spoon feeding please.

Can anyone post some pics and point out what I'm supposed to be looking at? I'm a visual person and that would help me immensly.
Thank all,

Have you tried adjusting the mounting points on the arm that rotates the light up and down. I made some marks on your pics as to the locations you might try. The first one is easily acessable from under the hood. I think the second is accessed from inside the fender once the liner is out.

Did you turn the adjustment bolt so that the light sits higher in the closed position?

That's really all there is to it.

The bolts on the first picture on Gman's suggestion holds the light assembly to the cross rod that attaches to the motor. It only goes on one way so there is no adjustment there.

The bolts on the second picture on Gman's suggestion tilts the front of the light Assy up and down. Not changing the light position on the trainling edge where the gap is.

Randy, the bolt is adjusted as far out as possible. No joy.

I got frustrated and after several explitives, I moved to replacing the valve at the fire wall that lets hot coolant into the heater core.

Could it have been the PO's stupid kid that pushed the light while it was up?

Pls, keep the suggestions comming.

Angel,

I've just noticed that I've got the same problem. I'll have a shot at it this weekend and see if I have any luck with it.
