Default 86.5 Race car for sale

This is the same car just raced by Mark Anderson at Sebring this month. You can view pictures of it and read his remarks about how it drove in the Sebring thread. Needs engine rebuild but the chassis is very sorted.

Particulars as follows: 1986.5 928S converted to a 5 speed, JRZ double adjustable shocks at all four corners, custom SS exhaust, 1990 S4 front brakes, Devek Aluminum radiator, rebuilt steering rack, rebuilt steering pump, fully gutted interior with new fire system installed, two Sparco race seats, custom full roll cage, brand new driver Teamtech 5 point harnesses, Momo race steering wheel, Accusump with billet oil filter, two sets tires and wheels, and more. Small trailer included. Price is $12,000.00.

Why sellng it? It will be about a year before I can get to the engine rebuild and thought to offer this fine car to someone who wants to go racing but not wait probably 2+ years to get a car to this stage. Engine rebuild is the easy part as far as time.

Constantine

Fully painted and polished interior, LSD ransmission, twin disk clutch with just replaced disks and short shaft, PCA race log book, passed inspection with flying colors, electrical cutoff switch, custom window net, carbon fiber sunroof insert and side mirrors...

Hundreds of man hours spent getting it to this stage.

I saw Constantine's car before he migrated it to a race car. Clearly he is meticulous, so I would anticipate this to be a great start for a would be 928 track addict

Constantine, this is really sad You say that you won't be able to do the engine rebuild for a year. Please tell me if I'm out of line here, but is the issue time or $$. Maybe there is something that the rest of us can do to help you keep the car. You were generous enough to let someone else run your car, maybe the rest of us can try to return the favor. I'd hate to see you get rid of your car like this.

Truly indeed a sad day for Florida Sharkers regarding race sharks, in more ways than one! Constantine's car looks brand new throughout! You could not ask for a more meticulously prepared car. Full attention to the smallest of all details. Just ask Mark Anderson his thoughts, he complimented the car many times during the weekend he raced it. Kudos to Constantine for his efforts and best of luck on your endevor of selling it.

NICE looking car, Constantine!

If one, say, purchases said car, would one be required to race it?

I have turned into a DE hound and wouldn't do anything more.

Quick, somebody else buy this before I deplete my checking account!

Gosh guys, I really appreciate the kind words, compliments and sentiments! We'll see what happens since $12,000.00 is a firm price for everything (can you believe the wife says don't sell it?!) and I don't believe it will sell. In the mean time I am doing a lot of pondering and planning just in case I will do the engine rebuild.

Thanks again,
Constantine

I know I've said it before but this is one of the best 928 racers I have ever driven. Constantines attention to detail is tremendous and I hope he keeps it but if not someone will be getting a great 928.

Not really but you could if you wanted. My plan was to keep doing DE days since it's really pretty neat showing up and usually being the only 928 at the track as you probably know. The fit and finish of the car also brings a lot of compliments and it does do well against other cars, well it did until just recently.

Remember, you are not getting any younger, you can't take it with you when you leave this life, money can't make you happy sitting in a bank...give me some time and I will think of more old sayings to help you sort this all out!

Cheers,
Constantine

Thank you very much Mark A. It was truly a pleasure for us East Coasters having you come visit us! As I have said before, even knowing the outcome I would do this again.

Kind regards,
Constantine
P.S. Has anyone ever said Mark A. sure knows how to drive?! Kind of interesting for him to come to Sebring never haven driven there before and starts posting times after the very first session that people who call this track home struggle to get given the same class of car. Gives one something to think about for sure...

Constantine,
Don't sell it! Wish there was something I could do to help out. I've said it before, but it was your car that convinced me a 928 was what I needed to buy. That car is gorgeous; I put it up on a pedestal after I read the magazine article... it would break my heart to see you sell it. My car will be done in 2 months max, so you can see what you have inspired.

Mark B.

Really appreciate your thoughts! Really cool that you were inspired by that since that was my hope when they were shooting the car for the article. I was hoping to get the word out about how much fun these cars are on the track and what someone can do with one. Seeing your project take shape and getting nearer to completion makes me extremely happy. I am very excited to see your finished project and hear about your first track time with it. Planning a trip to Hotlanta in a few more months and I can hopefully stop by and see it in the flesh.

As far as mine we'll see what happens. At this price I won't be holding my breath...

Kind regards,
Constantine
