Who bought Don's screaming bargain? With all that horsepower, it will be a treat to see it on the track again.

Good move Abby. A veritable plethora of 928 racers is starting to pop up in the Atlanta area, there's you, Red and his 86 and mine is coming along too (snail icon needed here). Any chance of having the car ready by end of June? There might be a track day at TGP that would be a great casual testing opportunity for you.

Thanks Mike! It's going to be end of June to mid-July before I can make a trip down to Fla. and pick the car up. Then, it will go to New Orleans to get the motor installed. I am thinking around October is more realistic. However I do plan to start getting together wih you all as the events come up so that I can start "learning the ropes"

Looking forward to it!

Abby,

What motor are you going to install?
Plan on racing or just DE?

John,

I have the motor from the car in my avatar since it now has the low compression motor with the turbo. The motor I took out only had 76k on it and ran very strong. My thoughts are to have the crank drilled, add a tray and perhaps a scraper, freshen everything else up like seals, bearings, TB,WP etc. and get it back in the car.

Then it will be DE's so that I can learn to drive it. IF I'm any good I'd love to try racing also! This car is way beyond my skills so I need to learn to drive it correctly first. I'll probably do some of the lightening mods left to do on the car but for now just get it back to strong running condition.

When did Llyod sell his track car???

Abby;
Great score! Constantines attention to detail is second to none, and Tim W. before him was a great owner. I hear C. did a killer job doing the 5 spd conversion.
One word of caution, should you let others 'take it for a lap' get a signed "you break it you bought it' contract before hand.

Abby,

You'll have a lot of fun with that car. Just remember it's a slippery slope when it comes to racing!!

Get it running and get some track time until YOU are faster than the car the car need not be faster.....trust me on this one And in many ways it is BETTER to learn in a low powered car because you MUST focus on carrying momentum in the corners ! Most people are pretty good about holding down the gas pedal.....in a straight line a least for a while

Jim,

Exactly. This cars ability surpasses my driving skill so no HP boost until I have gotten a ton of laps and have sharpened my skills as a driver.

John,

In talking with Constantine, he told me it's kind of all or nothing. No warnings like skreeching tires on a street car. He said if you hear the tires it likely to late....

The "slippery slope" is the path you travel as the addiction grows !! makes rational people do all kinds of interesting things as the closer you get to "raceday" the less significant money becomes again trust me on this ! New set of tires ...SURE take this card...
