Default 1986.5 928S racer is SOLD!

Just want to announce the sale of the 1986.5 racer to long time 928 Forum member, Abby Normal! I have somewhat dreaded this event in a strange way but after my conversations with Abby I cannot think of a better 928 enthusiast to get the racer. We discussed his plans to continue the build up of the racer and to run the car at Road Atlanta. Seems he is working with a well respected Porsche race shop in Louisiana that has a long history of racing Porsches. Abby will commission them to replace the engine and do some other tweaks to get the car in top running form and then continue it's racer progression. I personally can't wait to see and hear about this next phase of the car's life.

I also want to thank those that have very graciuosly offered me parts and $$$$ to get this car back on the track, cannot tell you how much that meant. After careful consideration and my involvement in other projects at this time, I thought this to be the better course for the car. Seems that I and the car both lucked out.

Kind regards,
Constantine

Sounds like a good conclusion to this deal for both of you.

Man, at another time in my life I would have gladly hocked everything I have for that car. Glad it's going to a member and that it's going to stay on the east coast. I can't wait to follow this car's progress, it's really a work of art and Abby is getting an absolutely AWESOME deal if I'm any kind of judge at all.

Congratulations to you both for getting a great deal.

Abby, please keep us posted!

Costantine,

Words can not express how honored and lucky I am to be getting this racecar. I have some really big shoes to fill in carrying on the progression of the car in the manner you have. Remember you ALWAYS have an open invitation to come drive the car at the track once it's back up to par.

And just so you all know, I will be seeking guidance from Constantine to ensure the vision he has always had for this car is realized, and perhaps even surpassed. He started something very special and I will always have the utmost respect for that fact and what he has done with this car.

It will be a couple of months before the Red Baron terrorizes Road Atlanta and I'll be really excited to see that day. Hope you all are too!

p.s. I really look forward to meeting with the other 928 racers also!

Thanks. I truly believe it is the right thing to do. Constantine put his heart and soul into this car and I would be an ******* to not welcome him to share it's continued progression. That car will always be part of him and vice versa. No matter who has the title!

Thanks to all for the kind words!
