Actually no There are couple of guys who installed this turbo on their BMW 4.4liter V8 and it spools very nicely (full boost @3400rpm) and makes tons of power (632@ 1bar).
It should fit to 928 even better thanks to the additional displacement (a bit lower boost treshold) and very well flowing heads of 32v.

This is who designed and help build my motor. One thing I don't see mentioned in the thread is the head gaskets. 951 head gaskets are used in addition to the pistons and custom rods for the wrist pin offsets. The end result 8:5:1 CR.

I'm going to New Orleans the first weekend in March and will at least drive my car with the 928Turbosport installed and perhaps even bring it home to Georgia, depending on how smooth things are running. I'm jones'n for my car really bad!

I haven't payed enough attention on what this is all about. It has something to do with using 944 pistons on "wrong side" of the block and need to have small offset in wrist pin, I think. What exctly is issue in here?

Using 951 widefire gaskets is very useful when boosting. Thanks for the info, I thought about that also for a second.
