John, lets see some more pics of the car!! I want to see the engine!
are those fake lights (or light ) that you have?
I like the color skeme too

with an all aluminum body (almost) it would be interesting to see a 928 polished aluminum, not painted. maybe you could coat the steel part so it wouldnt rust

So lucky with the weather. Today it's 10 and there is a snow/ ice storm happening. I would have never been able to drive to FL today in this weather. What a difference a week makes!

great shot of the engine. Thanks.
Now, the $$$$$ question. besides the built motor, how much is it just to do the throttle bodies and that fancy air box.. real NICE!!

im thinking someone needs to put one of these air boxes and throttle bodies on a stock 5 liter

24hours to the track??? thats a HAUL!! I should try that going to road america. I think its 24hours if you drive fast from CA. did you do the drive in just 2 days?

where are you located again? oh yeah, avitar says New Jersey. Watkins glen land, right?

i heard the air box lost a bunch of HP. you have two little 3" openings with the brake duct feeding it??? after all we talked about!!!

why dont you just vent the air box directly to the firewall. a straight box joining the firewall opening to the air box. thats how the big boys do it with the big hp.

You need to speak to Louie Ott for a TB/airbox setup. I purchased those TB several years ago.
www.performance928.com

As for the airbox. I rushed to get the car race ready. It is feed by two 3.5" tubes, not 3". Goes to two very big K&N filters. I will be changing it to feed a flat filter out the back. I'm a small boy with big horsepower

The lid on the box cost me 3.5% rear wheel power loss.

Northern NJ. The Glen is 3.5 hours away. Great track!
Drive down was 14 hours, slept, then another 7. Home was 12 hours, 3.5 hour nap and then 8 more.

Would be cool if you, Mark, Joe, myself and maybe Lloyd make RA this year.

John - I am sure you know this already, but the weak link in the LSD could be the spider gear SHAFTS that cross over each other. They get alot of stress, and that may be the weak link. I think they break first, and then he spider gear does because of the unusual stress. A stronger shaft may be the key, and it would be very easy to make.

The strange thing is that I have not read of anyone breaking the spiders or shaft in the diff.. It's always 3rd gear in the trans that goes.
I'll find out more about the failure once I remove the unit.

I bought an LSD that had broken the Shaft LONG AGO and the spider then had a fracture in it, probably from the heat.

Post Pics here. We love carnage.

Looked like 3" wow, thats big! 3.5 should be fine, but even still, putting a lid on it, cost 3.5% hp. well, you could get that all back at 200mph for pressures generated at the base of the windshield. might be worth it to have two more openings in the front of the box, leading to the traditional openings. I bet that could bring down the losses by 1.5%

you got more power than you need now. should be a fun platform. bet you surprised a lot of cup cars out there!

what place did you end up with after the race overall?

Speaking of cup cars at Sebring. What was up w/ the leader in the GT3 race? That guy lept out to a 40 or 50 car lead by the time he got around the hairpin on the first lap and never looked back. Three laps later he was lapping people. It was like he had Nos or something. I thought those GT#'s were supposed to be pretty evenly matched. I can't imagine that he was that much better of a driver unless he was Schumacher in disguise.

And some GTP1 cars
I can hear it now back in the paddock. Driver goes to the Kelly-Moss crew "Something is wrong with this car! A 928 just walked away from me on the back straight!!"

you got more power than you need now
No such thing.......

Started 30 out of 71, gained a bunch of positions then lost them all due to the last three laps and ended right were I started at 30

Now imagine storming through the field after you take the Positraction down from 100% lockup.

Then you might want to think about putting on some bright color like optic orange or yellow on the nose so they know to get out of the way.

Running Big Red brakes? Or have you migrated to the Ferrari brakes Joe Fan and Mark Anderson are using on their cars, JV.
