Wow...I guess that foot stomp has been out done! Anyway, just right click on the image click SAVE AS and save to what ever file you want, then just copy the image to your signature in profile. However, I think you may have already figured that out judging by the fire breathing lizard you have there. Ya may want to try to slow the fire breathing down...he's gonna get all tuckerd out.

BTW, wasn't Godzilla a female lizard???

Yes I used auto cadd to sketch those out. My first thought is that the plate does not have to fit flush. If it does then you have to follow the contours of the existing console if you overlap then you can change the look anyway you see fit. You can round the corners and bevel the edges or whatever. And though some may disagree you dont have to stop the plate below the line where center console meets the dash. You could , for athetics continue up as far as you like i have seen this on existing vehicles where this plate goes all the way to wind screen. i do agree that while the convex shape would look nice is probably too much trouble.

Morpheus, you're talking to Neo here ... but I don't think you can save images in your sig, just links so I'd have to find where you got it, copy the html link and paste it in my sig as I did with the firebreather .... otherwise it will not be available when I shut my laptop down

Alrighty then... demo'd the center console today

It looks like what I plan to accomplish is going to be irreversible. If it ever was going to be put back to stock, one would have to acquire another center console as I need to make cuts to the bracing and rack ear mounts. I guess it can be done without replacing it, but I have to take a leap of faith. Not a big deal in the grand scheme of things in depreciation of a GTS I guess. (I am not concerned about it being a collector, I just get the heebie jeebies when ever I slice into a pristine car..but it's for the good)

So I have a couple of dilemmas that need to be addressed. I know what I would/can do, but just like to bounce things off of others before I do it.

As previously mentioned, I want to locate the AVIC right under the center vents. Unfortunately, the issue there is the footwell actuator pod w/mount. I can lower the AVIC and just stick the AC/Door button bar between them. (see pic) I would prefer to keep the bar under the HVAC unit. So, this means that I would have to relocate the actuator pod, BUT, the default position of this actuator is extended. I was thinking of just relocating below(upside down), but that would mean I would have to change over to a normally retracted actuator. Anyone see an issue with this??? (see pic) I would need to do some cutting and fitting to set the AVIC, AND make a rear support stand for it that sits on the tunnel.

As for where I wish to locate the HVAC head, I need to do some cutting as well, but there is a transfomer(?) and a relay in the way. Seems easy enough to move the relay and the transformer, but does anyone see an issue with this???

I did a basic mock up of what a flush mount look would offer (HVAC was jut kinda stuck in there to give an idea of location) and I like it, bare in mind I would create a trim piece to cover all of the exposed areas and I just temporarily located the AC/Door button bar below the vents just to get an idea of space. The square trim piece under that is from the AVIC (which won't be used) to give the idea of space needed.

Regardless of the configuration of the AVIC, bar and HVAC head, they will fit handsomely as I had expected. Bringing them all out to flush giving me the needed rear space to make this all work. As can also be seen in one of the pics, the rear AC pots can easily be located down to where the ashtray was. I will use the cigarette lighter as a Powerpoint with a plastic plug to cover it. (you see these in many cars now)

So any comments or thought on moving the transformer and modifying the actuator???

Thanks!

Watching this one! OK, from afar, but 'you guys are on to some good stuff', IMHO....
Wish I could contribute -- how 'bout a name:
