Yeah, Mark didn't like what he's been posting and told him to shape up.

These topics are getting as convoluted as a political stand in congress.

Let's all just back up a second...K?

If I am reading things correctly, these topics are being sparked by one particular "newbie". Generalizing does not address what the real issue is and has sparked this issue. Unless someone can direct me to where a "newbie" is getting hazed, then I stay convinced that it has nothing to do with being new, but rather the ludicrous comments/suggestions/questions being raised. I don't care what forum one is in, they are what they are and F**k political correctiveness.

It is apparent that many have found a particular newbie to be a TROLL of sorts. THAT is what is the issue. Some had responded, (myself included) in a manner of WTF!?!?! I think now, we have mellowed and either laugh at it and DON'T take ANYTHING he says as serious or (like me) just ignore and skip past his posts.

No matter what, there is still lot's of great info being exchanged and 99.9% of us are having a fun time being here.

Now what were we talking about.....?

I recently figured out how to use the IGNORE function on this site. Go to your user CP (that's Control Panel) and add those you find offensive or distasteful to your own personal 'ignore' list. Then, even when you see a thread started by someone else, the posts by the 'ignored' person will be, well, ignored. You get a little message in the thread that says that the particulra post is hidden because it was generated by somebody on your list. This is a lot easier for me than always being politically correct to members who seem a constant irritation. It might be tougher on other users who don't know that I don't see certain messages, but so what?

We also have the luxury of being able to select the threads we want to read or participate in. If a thread comes up with the title 'twin supercharged GTS stroker in a Karmann Ghia convertible", I might want to read it. "GT motor in an OB" and I might not, especially if I see who started the thread.

Alas, I'm as guilty as anybody about letting certain personalities get under a nail. But that 'Ignore' function is like a shield against a lot of the repeating/chronic irritators.

I like this guy However, we would lose some of the fun that brings us back everyday if we banned everyone.

Hi

I see your point but...as an example....I answered what I "THOUGHT" ...could be a serious post....as it turns out...having just read some more of his posts...it was a sort of joke..(American humour seems to be a little different from our British humour)

Now.....I only have so much time to read and answer posts...as we all do.....therfore wasting time on a "joke" post.....is not my idea of fun...

Apologies if I seem to be down on this guy...but I have always looked on this forum as one of the best places ANYWHERE in the world to get high class and friendly information and help on the 928

I dont think this guy is helping that image though....

All the best Brett
