Bob- I used to be confused too. Basically, if the mounting surface of the wheel were exactly in the middle of the width of the wheel (i.e. 5" on a 10" wheel), the offset would be zero. As you move toward the outside of the wheel, or "offset" the mounting surface, the distance you move away from teh center is measured in mm. So a 47mm offset will have its mounting surface closer to the middle of the wheel than a 67mm offset. Get it?

If you wanted to play safe, you could always buy a high offset wheel (e.g. 67mm) and then add a spacer to get the desired wheel spacing. For example if you wanted a 47mm offset wheel, but all you could get was a 67mm wheel, you could buy the 67mm and then add a 20mm spacer for a net of 47mm.

Go to the wheel offset thread for more detail. https://rennlist.com/forums/928-forum/270800-is-there-an-official-928-wheel-offset-thread-now-post-your-wheel-sizes-and-offsets.html

With the right tire selection, a 10" 65mm offset will work on the front of a 928. Carefully.

The spacers that were on my car has studs in it. It bolts to the existing hub studs, then the wheel mounts onto the studs on the spacer. I suppose if the spacer were narrower, this setup wouldn't be needed.

Andrew,
Does your very good wheel fitment guide work for a GTS or do you need to change things for the rear wheels?

Inboard measurements should work. I believe the GTS flares give you an additional 30mm of clearance to the outside, but I have yet to personally take any measurements of the GTS. So to use my calculator, you would change the value in cell L:34 to about 230. THis should be pretty close. You might want to back it off to 225 to be sure. Hope this helps.
