Don't ignore my post Ryan - take it as a joke - being funny. Do you think I was trying to diss you? I wasn't. I could care no less if Mike decided to buy my block or not. For all I know, I will need it next time I change my damn mind.

I'm in sales. If I was trying to sell something that I needed to sell I wouldn't have entered into a controversial area in the first place.

My post was a "Let us know how you really feel" sarcastic response to your unwinding a big f-u on him.

And my opinion of you (not that I or anyone else should perceive any weight in it) is unchanged. You've been around a while (your join date seems too recent though), as have I. When we need real info, we know what names to look for. New additions come and go, but there are a couple dozen names we can all quickly remember or at least recognize that put together the cadre of people that make the core of this community. {Puts fist up} Solid.

The transmission needs an intervention sometimes before it perceives the NEED to change.

I'm sure ROGer will chime in and speculate that the only worthwhile change would be to graft auto innards into it lol

Danglerb, contact the Cubans. They have put Lada Niva transmission parts inside fifties US automatic boxes when parts were not available for original gearbox. I'm sure they can fir Lada or possibly stronger Volga gears into any G28. Should be cheap also.

Hmmm... I thought it was "Dang Lerb"....

Dang, shoulda bought the right lug nuts.

Dang, I thought a shock was supposed to transmit vibration.

Dang, that steering rack isn't as shiny as a VW rack.

Dang, a DIY-oriented site is a great place to get ideas about shop $$$ to fix things.

Dang, you do ask a lot of dumb questions. Seat doesn't feel right? Find a local, make a friend, sit in another seat.

Dang, no friends.

Dang, Dang, Dang.

OK, kidding aside Dang, Step back and take a look at the big picture from another perspective. You come in here with all kinds of questions about models and service what to look out for, then you buy a car on which none of the standard equipment seems to suit you, now you are asking this same group of people for ideas about changing almost everything about the car. Do you really not see any irony in this?

Thank you Dave

I am glad someone else can put this into words without my obvious irritation.

Your right on about his previous posts about which model to buy, which year, what problem areas to look out for blah blah blah. Then as you said he gets a car and now wants to modify everything. Not to mention the car has all these issues, HVAC, Gearbox, not enough power, crappy lug nuts, bad steering rack, needs motor mounts, ( i assume a pan gasket too). These were all the things all of us on the list told you to watch out for. You also posted numerous times about your PPI, I assume you had Greg look at the car, did he not tell you about all these issues? Yet if he did you still had to have that car, even after you swore up and down you wanted a perfect car on the cheap. Obvious perfect and cheap dont go together well. Thats a lesson most here realised but i guess you did it yurself as a proof for other future 928 owners. So heinrich, i guess he has already gotten his feet wet and other newbees can already learn from his adventures. But please lets not start throwing in volvo, or yugo or corvette or whatever car parts into our lovely G28 boxes and bolting it up and crossing our fingers and hoping it works.

Love the comment about Lada and Volga gears.

Arent those Russian makes? Isnt Volga from Russia, I didnt know cuba got russian cars. I didnt know where those piles came from actually, but i assume if cuba got anything they would have imported a ton of those crap cars along with all those missiles
