Have a great trip Ed, make sure you stay in touch along the way.
Any way of getting a V-1 to you before you leave? Mine's gone cross country with David H., and probably is up for another tour if there's a way to get it to you.

Good luck Ed. I made the treck from FL to NV along 40 when I got my 84'. I had a great time. I used to live in Duvall when I was a little tyke. Went to Yakima to live on a farm with the grandparents after that. My dad and all his siblings went to Tolt HS. Is that school still there? Anyway, hope you have a good drive.

Yup, Flagstaff in the Winter is COLD. I have been there when the whole place was covered in ice. I would go farther South this time of year. But the road from Flagstaff toward California is a nice one.

Good luck, and give a shout if you're in the bay area. BTW, watch out for King City if you're headed north on 101 between SLO & Salinas. BIG bear trap.

Unless your prepared for some snow driving I would keep one eye on the weather reports and the other eye on I-10. Have a great trip and remember we don't need much notice in the Bay Area to meet for lunch and check out your new ride.

In addition to Adam's V1...I've got a portable XM radio with car adapter kit (I've used it in my GT a lot)...plays through existing radio via FM modulation...and no need to run the antenna outside..I used it just tossed up on the dash..magnetic base actually holds it in place nicely..

you are welcome to borrow that too for your trip....

Later,
Tom

Good luck, Ed. Arrest Me Red, eh?

Zanesville, Ohio - ~ mile# 155 on I-70, about 50 miles east of Columbus. Feel free to stop by if you're coming by.

PM with contact info on the way.

I'm envious, you're gonna have fun, I think.

Best, Will

I'm heading to NJ to pick up my new '88 S4 tomorrow. After a short visit with family and friends I'll be driving it home to the Seattle area. I can't wait.
Should be hitting the road Monday or Tuesday am, heading down towards Memphis, then going straight west on I40, the up through Bakersfield towards I5, then up the coast. If I have time and if the weather allows I may sidetrack to the Grand Canyon, and perhpaps a bit of 101 in Cali.
I'll try to check in once or twice if I can find easy wireless connectivity.
Wish me luck!

I spend about a month in and around Stockton - Bakersfield, Ca (work related) back in January of '01. I've never seen so much fog at night in my life. Other that that it was nice.

Hey thanks for all the kind offers, tips and encouragement guys. It means a lot to me that there are other kindred spirits out there.

There's more then a few out there that are not too sure about this trip.

For the radar detector, I've got a Passport radar/laser 8000 or something. And for tunes, I've my iPod filled up and ready to go. -Ed

Wow Jim! Small world, ha ha.

You probably wouldn't recognized Duvall now. We've been here about 10 years now, and in even that short time, it has really grown. Still a nice little town though. We love it here.

The old Tolt High School is now the middle school (grades 6-9). And they built a brand new high school in Duvall. Its not far from my home, its a really nice school.
