Mike the radiator failed on our S4 like a month ago. We bought the plastic end tanks from 928 International for $200 and paid someone only $70 to take the radiator apart and reseal it. You shouldn't have to worry for about 10 years after that.

You can get a side tank for $100 and get it installed & leak checked for maybe $50, maybe less. Have the tabs that hold the side tank on already been bent since new(repaired once already), or not?

Mike,
We've all been there. You've got enough new parts in there that your just about over the hump. Get new side tanks (do both sides at the same time). The 928 gods will thank you and it will start behaving better from now on, I promise!

Mike, so sorry to hear about your woes. Like Jim said, we have all been there. Don't get down. I have gone through the same this past summer with one problem leading to another. I seriously considered selling or paring out as well. I finally realised this car is something special. There is no other car quite like a Porsche 928 and you know it.
I see so many people driving new cars that start and run reliably every day. BUT, most are pieces of garbage with absolutely no style or performance and cost many times what our sharks were purchased for. And if you think your repair costs will decrease with a new car, you are sorrily mistaken my friend.
Mike, If you can weather this storm and keep your shark, I have a feeling you will be as glad as I was when I decided to keep mine. 2006 I replaced, TB/WP, radiator, rear shocks, tyres and chased so many electrical problems I got dizzy from reading schematics. I feel your pain brother. I'll send you some positive energy and you decide what is best for you.

Ask aournd, someone might have a good used rad for sale. I sold the one out of the parts car for $200cdn. The rad was a lot newer than the car (looked like it was only few years old). So you never know, someone might have one out of a parts car, cheap.

Mike, you have to unload this car.
No slight to you personally, and no slight against your 928, but this car is not for you, and is just giving you aggravation.
Sell it. Don't try to get the best price over 6-10 months, just unload it immediately.
Ebay.
Your blood pressure, will thank you.
Best of luck,
Michael

It is extremely cold here..........below -30C with wind chill; perhaps thas a factor on the ~20 year old rad.
Mike......as I've offered before park the P car at my place and get yourself a beater for the winter.........things always look better in the spring/summer.
