Wanted to start the reminder going!
What: Sebring Shark Shiver
When: February 9th-11th, Friday-Sunday.
Where: Sebring Florida of course!
Its here again!
The annual Sebring Shark Shiver gathering to be held in conjunction with the 48 Hours of Sebring PCA Races!
This year should be as great as ever. Tenative plans are for dinner & social on Friday night and a barbeque at the track late Saturday afternoon. We hope to have at least 20 Sharks in attendance and over 30 attendees.
Once again we will have a full slate of 928 racers representing us for the weekend! This will include 1-2 Florida 928ers, two of our famous northeastern 928 racers and one very famous western 928 racer! Constantine has been working really hard to help ensure our racers are taken care of & can fill us in on more details regarding this. We need to have a great turnout to show our support for the 928 racers, especially since they are making such a great effort to come and race.
Any and all can have their own "track time" for 30 minutes on Sat. & Sun. during the VIP Track Touring time. This is where they allow anyone present, no matter what you are driving, to traverse the 3.7(?) mile road course single file. Even if you're in a mini van! Talk about a blast! Where else do you have that kind of an opportunity on such a historic race track?
This will also be the perfect opportunity for those 928ers further north who might be freezing their fins off in the dead of winter to take a well needed road trip down to the Sunshine State and enjoy some great weather, great Porsche racing and great shark fellowship!
So whats everybody say?? Great Shark Event at a time when most places are too cold to even get your 928 out of the garage! Lets have a great turnout to start the year off right!

Yeah & it was great to see ya there too Normy! John V may just be wishin he'd had his Monster Shark ready in time to make to Daytona too! If he could of, he'd would of been the only 928 racing out of over 250 porsches in the 1st ever PCA races held there! He'd had the full attention of our group's support too!

Looks like another great time at Sebring shaping up! David Lloyd will be there in his green 928 monster, John Veninger in his silver 928 with a new stroker (!) motor and Mark Anderson, all the way from California, will also be there running in a red "loaner" 928. This will be Mark's first time running at Sebring and all three will be running in GT2S, making for very exciting racing action. Since Mark will be in a loaner, his racing will be more of a "fun run" than all out competition. But we'll see what happens when the flag drops...
In conversations with the racers some specific needs were discussed. First, donations for David and John will be accepted by the 928 OC Florida Chapter for race gas, lodging and so forth. Mark will be taking care of his own needs.
Pit crews for the racers doing the 1.5 hour enduro race will be needed.
David might need a place to sleep over Sunday (02/11/07) night in Orlando since his plane leaves 8:00 AM Monday (02/12/07) morning.
More to come,
Constantine

So we'll just keep our fingers crossed that you'll be able to at least make it to one of those two events. We can't have 18 928s show up for a race weekend like last Oct. for our 1st annual Sharks at Daytona, then not have even ONE 928 racer to cheer for out of over 250+ Porsches from all over the country racing that weekend! We were like a group of sports fans all dressed out in our team colors and yet our team wasn't even playing that weekend! While it was nice to be noticed by the PCA and track officials for our dedication, some wondered who or what we were there supporting. Having two in state and three out of state 928 racers at Sebring next month is how it's meant to be!
