Looking for parts of the rear AC vents
I am looking for some of the little vent's pieces for the rear AC (The small plates, there are 7-8 in each block , and 4 blocks to make up the rear AC venting.)
I know i should post a pic but i havent unpacked my camera yet.
Anyway, I need 7 of these little plates. they are maybe 3/4" square. They should have 3 tabs on them, 2 on one side 1 on the other. When i bought my car these were all screwed up and i just reinstalled them and it looks good. But I had a few that were broken and a few were missing so I was curious if anyone has these laying around and wants to get rid of them. I'm willing to pay for them but not much honestly.
Anyone have any of these laying around in a parts car with an othewise broken up rear vent.
Please let me know, either via e-mail or PM
Thanks in advance

It would be nice to have a one piece grill in place of those silly vents...
I have most of the parts to reinstall the system in my '86 (was removed at some point by PO), but those vents vex me.

yeah they always come loose, but i fooled around with them for a few minutes and started to get the technique down to reinstall them pretty easily. I imagine someone has an otherwise trashed rear vent, thats all busted up, and can pick at the bones for me and get me 7 of the small plates, or fins actually. Thats a better description.
I was going to pay $80 for the entire rear vent, but i dont need it, the only issue is some of the fins get loose and look like crap, just remove them all and reinstall them, then dont ever touch them and your good to go!

Ryan,
Are you using the spring washers when you assemble the fins?
Just checking as without them they rattle like H**l.

spring washers?
I am not, they just pop into place. I dont see any spring washers on any of the other fins. I think i need a picture to show you specifically what i am talking about.

The drive was awesome thanks. She never missed a beat.
IIRC one of the main hinge points on one side has a curled washer to allow friction on the pivot. Stops rattling. Ask me how I know.
I have some somewhere.

There are spring washers on both ends of the blocks to hold the pivoting sections in place. I'm going to send you a complete block which holds 7 fins. As you can see, one of the blocks that was in my GT had no fins at all. I got lucky and found a complete assy on eBay new in the Porsche parts box for around $30. I think I'll keep the rest of the parts in case I need them for future aquisitions.

Many of the fins in my side vents were broken when I got the car. I picked up some beat up vents, each of which also had a couple of broken fins, for a couple bucks each at a local dismantler. Took me about 20 minutes to cannibalize them and get the ones in the car looking and working like new.
