Are 928 Top End Speeds Getting Faster?

What I mean by riding, is that if you want to turn left, you don't just turn the wheel and it happens, you have to accommodate the physics of the car, tires, and track.
How it feels has nothing to do with how much control you have over the cars motion, which is mostly governed by the speed and mass. The higher the speed the less influence you have and the more limited control actions become. Making any kind of turn is very different at 125 than it is at 80. So is a bump or dip in the road.
The well sorted out comment is a red herring, if I don't agree my car is automatically not well sorted out enough, and I disagree at least some of them were very nicely sorted out. As fine or "sorted out" as a 928 might be, its no substitute for knowing how to drive at speed, even if it "feels" like it is.

We have obviously now heard from an expert. I'll be getting in touch with you for my next driving lesson. You do have a drivers license don't you. I want to learn how to "accommadate the physics".

I am no expert, but I have had more than one person who is, slowly explain to me how to go around a corner and what is going on with the forces acting on the car. If you disagree with what I say, why not take a swing at the argument instead of me personally?
I see a track car in your signature, so I assume you drive it and understand this stuff, so what is it that I have all wrong?

Something I have learned from "real" experts, is that they are able to explain what they know to anybody at any level. That I am all wrong and clueless isn't impressing me much.
I also don't see where I am "telling" anybody how to do anything.
What I really don't have a clue about is what you are arguing about. Is it, what the car does, or what it feels like? I assume by definition a "well sorted out" car "feels" the same over a wide range of speeds, thats not my point, I am saying at 80 mph maybe you miss the deer in the road and at 125 mph maybe you don't.

Actually 125 doesn't feel much different than 80 in a well sorted 928 and many other cars. Now, I once had a '90 5.0 Mustang that sounded and felt like it was gonna leave the rearend behind at 125.
Whereas at much over 100 in my 92 5.0 Mustang I am really hanging onto the wheel & feel like I am fighting the car.

Mustang is not a porsche, not even a vw porsche, but as long as you don't stop, turn, drive it in rain or snow, or take it over a 100 for long, its fine.

Am I an expert - probably not since I've never really had any problems at high speed. I have had some things going on but only at moderat 160-170 mph speeds and I've never had a crash at these speeds.
IMHO a stock 928 is best suited for speeds over 110 mph. Going slower it feels rough compared to the smoothness found at 110+. I haven't been going fast enough in a 928 to be worried about the cars behaviour except for a few instances when the road was not as expected.

Next year I will be trying some UK top speed runs...I am aiming for 200 mph on LOTS of Nitrous...in theory with my Auto gearing the S2 is "capable" of 225.....but I think the aerodynamics will kill that thought lol
p.s. My cruising speed on mine...where everything goes quiet and smooth is 145 mph...(without Nitrous)

Do you get the car up to N/A top speed and then hit the nitrous, or are you on the nitrous from the beginning. How long (time and distance) do you think it will take to get to 225mph? And once you get there, how long do you plan on staying there.
I think you're going to need some aero work and some "Y" rated tires to get there.

The 928 handling becomes even better known at these speeds. it is very nimble at these speeds. all cars get a little scarry at 150+, but a 928 is a point and shoot machine at these speeds (street cars that is) race cars are a little unfair to compare, as most all prepared cars at thoses speeds are good, but none of them seem to feel as solid as the 928 in street car form.
