Looking great, bro!

Can't wait to see and hear it at Road Atlanta this spring!

Did you wet the surface before applying the vinyl? I've always taken a spray bottle with a couple of drops of baby shampoo to use as a agent to help slide the vinyl around. Lightly mist the surface apply and work the squeegee from center up - center down and then go in paths toward the edges.

The car is really looking great!

Thanks again everyone.

Abby,
Actually, putting soap or the like under the vinyl weakens the adhesive bond. The technique used when wrapping a car is to lightly lay the vinyl over the surface, then with clean hands, pull it up from the underside as you squeegee downward. Sort of hard to describe, but it would be a total PITA to wrap a car with wet vinyl. When I finish the graphics, I'll try to post more detailed on the process.

My dad is planning on driving at Road Atlanta in April. I don't know if I'll have the time to drive between now and then, but I will let you know if I am ever able to make it out. Look forward to meeting again. Maybe I'll be able to show you what the car can really do instead an old bald man! haha

I want to know more about the paint and color of this car . what is wrap and what is paint.
How hard was it to wrap the parts that were wrapped?

Im thinking of doing soemthing like this when I fix my rear fenders.

Mark-

Everything is paint except for the butt. I painted a warped cover and ended up having to buy another as it wouldn't even bolt up. Didn't have the booth set up at that point, so I decided to just wrap the rear.

Wrapping is something that requires an acute attention to detail and a ton of PATIENCE. It is really that simple. If you aren't extremely patient with learning new techniques, I would not recommend it. Check for some videos on Youtube to learn more about how it is done. Once you have the technique down, it isn't all that hard.

With this new company that we are starting (collaboration with my current company and branching out into a larger market), I will be completely wrapping the race car and designing a livery to promote the new website/business. When the time comes, I will definitely document the wrap process. I intend to completely document v2 of Lucy as soon as time allows and a few of the new parts begin to arrive.

you know me, i might not be a good candidate for the wrap then!

I just love that you have done a lot of the things I did, but in the right way. wish I had the patience to really make the car look nice!

look forward to the wrap write up. heck, i might just get out the hammer and dolly and start going to work. Bondo is cheap and Im sure i can rattle can it better than it looks today!
