Bosch 045 fuel pump to 044
Im finally upgrading my fuel system to a higher capacity pump. Im going from the stock 045 to the 044 pump...and hopefully a bump in HP
From what i understood the 044 unit is a straight "bolt up replacement" for the stock 045 but as i always tend to find out, that is a relative term.
Ive added pics below to show what im looking at.
2 issues......
1) the stock pump uses a rubber hose and hose clamp for the intake side of the pump. The stock pump comes with a "barb" for the hose to slip over.
The 044 pump doesnt. It just has a female threaded port. Is there a part number or a theread barb out there that will make this work? I assume so.
2) on the ouput end you can see the fittings are differnt also. I would assume i should just be able to remove the 044 fittings and attatch the stock one to the new 044 pump.
Thanks!

Tony.............haven't done this project but would suggest:
1) use a 'compressed air' fitting to the intake side of the new pump that is threaded appropriately that shall also accept the rubber line and clamp.
2) remove the check valve fitting and check if the stock bolt shall fit and seal; if so done. If not you may have to get another 'banjo' bolt thats threaded for the new pump output.
Seal both with 'teflon' tape.

I found on that screws into the input AND outputof the pump from Earls. I will have to check it out when I get home. Its still in the boxes.

Hi Brian
I am using the 30lbs at this point. My last dyno of 448 rwhp was with the 24s. I dont have a record of a new fuel pump being put on my car so i decided to kill two birds with one stone...get a new one and a better flowing one. The new pump will just eliminate one more part of the equation when tuning the last 50 hp out of this thing. When i decide to Sharktune the 044 have the flow capablilty to deliver fuel with out haveing to skyrocket the fuel pressures to do it.

I think it was a post by Gretch somewhere that showed a 90' curved fitting on the end? I recall seeing it as well. Im sure Murph knows the part number also
I got the fitting i needed down at a hose/hydraulic shop. I needed mine "yesterday" so to speak as i wanted the car on the road...therefore..
FYI..metric parts are NOT cheap!!!!
i went with the Bosch unit as it does bolt right up into the stock area/brackets..the Walbro unit is much thinner and a bit longer. I didnt want the hassle of making it fit..
