meet a carrera
so i drive down the interstate when i see this carrera flying by.
i didn't look much, because of what you guys keep saying about the
snobby 911 crowd. anyway...
for some reason that 911 was next to me on the fast lane with me in the middle lane. the guy didn't look at me at all that went on for a mile or so.
then all over sudden, he punched it.
and so did i. i had the move from the middle to the right lane and when i got back to the middle i noticed the 911 was gone (!!!).
then, i saw him in my rear view mirrow. i said to myself ...whoa... i can't believe i scored him.
so i slowed down to limit speed. he came up and again we both punched it.
however, this time he was faster for about a quarter mile, then i noticed how my car kept pushing like crazy , while he fell back.
now, i don't know if mine was really faster or if the other guy had sort of a light foot or felt sorry for me.
anyhow, it made my day

Racing on the street against a stranger is often about who either has more ***** or less brains... my experience has shown that these factors are usually more relevant to the outcome than performance potential.

Street Racing???..... I sure notice more Soccer Moms & Little Ole Ladies tryin to zoom around in traffic at NASCAR speeds around here than any Street Racers..... As long as you weren't being stupidly unsafe, as driving in & out of traffic at high speeds, or driving above & beyond your's or your car's abilities, then with the flat straight highways we have here in Florida, there was probably little problems with briefly showing a rear engine'r what your V8 can do. Of course, never lose sight of the fact that here in the Sunshine State, they CAN take your car away if they deem that you were Street Racing. I say go straight to your next PCA meeting & introduce yourself so they know who & what left them in your dust. Or....... go get a mini van & try & stay up with the Soccer Moms & Little Ole Ladies on their way to the grocery store. That way no one will claim you were "street racing"!! Oh yeah, & make sure you come over to Sharks At Daytona OktoberFast this weekend to tell us all about it!

There's no chip for '83.
I put the hurt on a Kawa sport bike the other morning in the '81. I didn't beat him, but I actually kept up until he chick'ed out at 75. The fellow did do a 1/2 block wheelie at the start so he didn't go as fast as he could have off the line.

I specifically pick the cars that are very fast, but have very low limiters. Such as Converitible Z-28s when they had LS motors, and lots of power, but a 115mph limiter. Other examples of the same thing as well.
