Thumbs up ROLLING ROAD DAY = PORK (Porsche) VS BEEF (Tvr) Came second...

Hi All

Just got back from the Porsche vs TVR rolling road dyno competition...In UK

I came second with ...505 HP (Crank) 500 Ft Lbs Torque (Crank)

Winner - TVR Cerbera with Nitrous...517 HP (Crank) 450 Ft Lbs Torque

The operator had huge problems keeping my car in the rollers...he also had big problems with my autobox kicking down because of the enormous torque....so we never got a full proper run.......if I had run the dyno I "think" I would have got another 20 to 40 HP from mine...but Charlie (operator) was a bit scared of either destroying his rollers or my engine lol

Ah well bigger jets next time

I beat EVERY other Porsche there....including 2 GT3s and an RS....BY MILES.. HEHE

All the best Brett

Revenge of the S2! I say that your performance was outstanding. I'm now living vicariously....

What have you done to your engine now? 150 shot of nitrous gave you 505 hp? Where do I sign up...!

B safe-

Pull the kick down cable at the throttle linkage and pull the plug from the switch under the gas pedal next time. this keeps the car from kicking down and freaking out dyno operators.

Hi Normy

Not much more..just added a Nitrous bottle heater...the rest is as in my signature....oh apart from a new set of my "home grown plugs" which are NGKs with the side electrode ground down so they look like figure 11 from the side.....but I change those regularly as they dont last long lol

I have piccies of the plugs if you would like to see or post them ??

All the best Brett

Might be that you don't as I'm not familiar with the linkage on the S2's, but you should have the switch under the gas pedal, or you could pull the relay.

Hi

Yes I have the switch (also a kickdown bypass) but I dont think its as easy as disabling the switch..I think it works on revs and vacuum as well....unless anyone knows better

You need to disconnect the bowden cable from the throttle linkage and disconnect the switch underneath the throttle pedal and then it will not shift down. I have done many runs like this in 3rd from 2000rpm to redline.

Umm I only have 1 cable and 1 Cable/rod linkage on my S2....

ROD = Throttle
Cable = assumed cruise ??

Brett, my S2 has a bowden cable, vacuum connection and kickdown switch. Unless your autobox isn't a Mercedes unit anymore, then it should have the bowden cable.

S2 should have three cables in an auto. If there are two - do you not have Cruise? It woul dbe way more fun if you could get it not to shift. The vac does have a connection, but the kick down switch and the bowden are the important things.
