...Veninger have struggled to see 300HP at the rear wheels running Euro Heads, runners headers,cams etc on modified 5 liter blocks.

WOW!! I'm glad to see my porsche is a hot topic of discussion. I am the owner of this 1980 928. I'm glad to see mark anderson was able to clear things up on where this engine originated. You can ask him to see my long list of parts i've bought in the past year and parts bought from the previous owner to back my ebay listing. As for the 500 hp that i know it doesn't have and i should have specified that alittle more clearly (which i'm doing to all people who ask) I do have to say the car runs like a dream and at times when you wind it out on the open road it sure does feel like 500 hp. However i know it does not have that and that is why i never said it did on the ebay posting. Since i live in such a small town there are no dyno shops near and i wish i knew what the hp rating was at. In talking with mark anderson he said he would not be surprised if it was around 350 to his scale. Also to clear up the speedo issue that some of you have. It did go bad on a trip to ohio and i had to be replaced this summer. You can ask mark about that also, since he did sell me one and also received the core exchange and can verify the mileage. I was contacted by my ebay memeber with intrest in the car and told me about this forum. They were all optomistic, as the rest of you are, on some of the things on this porsche. So I felt it would be a good thing for me to get on hear and clear some of this up. Also spoke with mark anderson and want to thank him for straghtening some of this out for me. I know his opinion is well respected in the 928 community. So if anyone out there has any other questions about the car feel free to contact me.

that's why there called surprises! Like i said i wish i could have it dynoed because i've always been curious myself, but there aren't any around so i just have to compare it to other vehicles i have driven and i know it damn sure isn't a honda!
