Soon we will have another 84 Euro supercharged with a 5.5l engine in it (10psi boost to start)..............more to come.
This is what will happen on the track.....

What, at about 6 psi? I suppose with the injection you might be able to push a *little* higher. Just don't blow 'em up, people!

-Callaway used to sell turbo kits for four-cylinder Volkswagens, and in order to lower the compression ratio, they supplied a copper plate. This spacer plate fit between a pair of head gaskets, raising the head slightly and essentially lowering the compression ratio enough to allow 11 pounds of boost.
Power? The engine went from 105 hp to 180 hp with this system. Hello!
Now, the engines in S2's have 10.4-1 compression, which generally precludes forced induction. However, with a spacer plate such as this...you could basically do what you want. Yes, the heads would be slightly farther apart if this was done on a V8 engine, but the only place I could see this being a problem at all on the 2-valve engine is at the water bridge, where you'd just need a pair of spacers to make it fit.
Why hasn't anyone tried to make spacer plates to lower compression on these engines?

Normy, the passenger side cam would be mis-timed by 3x the spacer thickness. Might be able to compensate with PorKen's adjustable cam gear setup -- might not.

Do not underestimate the ill effects on quench control (and 928 timing...) that the "thicker head gasket" method has. It's an old-fashioned ham-fisted method that while effective, has drawbacks.
IMO, it is better to use precise and accurate control of air, fuel, spark and timing to prevent tradegies in the firing chambers.
Here's some good reading on the subject:

I can't wait to see some dyno sheets posted... an SC'd Euro has got to be a screamer!

Kevin really had to push thru some issues with his grey-market Euro to get this to work right, and although we provided the information, he was "head wrench" on this project.
All the things that need to be done when you take a 928 out of storage after 5 years and put it back into daily use had to be addressed. It was quite a project.
I want to thank him for his willingness to share what he did and how he did it with us - all owners who install to the 16v LH Euro fuel system will have an easier time as a result of it.
Pics of the install will be coming soon. I mailed Kevin a digital camera and he is taking the pics and mailing it back to me.
Good job Kevin! Send me the receipt for the Dyno and I'll pay for it.

I'll get those dyno numbers and pics for you all just as soon as a backordered rear end gasket gets here from Germany, hopefully by next weekend.
Thanks for all your interest and encouragement!

Who denied that they could not be supercharged? Several have been. I've just heard that they tend not to last long. Good luck with engine life. I'm looking forward to the dyno numbers.
