The gasket is on its way, he hopes to get it, install it, and dyno in the next week to 10 days.

Im not sure if I should make my own thread, but would the engine in an 83 Euro with a turbo kit (probably from 928 turbo sports when released) not last. Or is forced induction in these engines just not a go zone?
My 928 is in perfect condition its only done 60,000 with original tyres from the showroom when purchased in 84. Its been in storage for about 10 years but have been driving it very lightly for the past 3 years, but have had a few parts replaced, but now its running perfectly and I dont want to ruin the car, but i feel that it lacks power and I will never get the money I think this car is worth if I sell.

UNTS1,
First take it to a dyno to see if you are really making all the power you should be.
If PROPERLY built and tuned, there is NO reason that a 10.5:1 comp engine cannot be force inducted.
However, you cannot run as much boost as lower comp mills, intercooling is not optional it is mandatory. You also have to be sure that the tuning is done correctly on a dyno w/ WBO2 and closing monitoring for detonation.
BMWs with higher comp are force inducted pretty regularly. The trick is that it must be done right.

Hi ![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
My car is an 86 S2 (EURO) with 10.5/1 compression ratio...
I use Nitrous.....and the engine takes it fine....and there is no difference between Nitrous and a Blower as far as the engine is concerned as it cannot tell the difference...
All the best Brett![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

Kevin was able to get his 1984 Euro LH-Jet Automatic trans to the dyno now, and this is what he got.
Good numbers (who can argure with 400 HP at the crank) but a little lower than we expected.
Kevin has started investigating, and discovered hi stock injectors are dripping, not spraying like they should. That explains the very high air/fuel ratio at the bottom end, and why the Methanol Snow System would improve the air/fuel ratio so much.
He's got the injectors out to be cleaned and serviced now, and will probably go again once they are back.
Good work, Kevin!

Hi ![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
UMMMM .."a slight methanol snow spray" ??????????
Having used methanol in top fuel ...do you mean he sprayed alky into the blower on the dyno ???
If he did the figures are useless....you can do that with any car and intake system...risky depending on percentage but gives MUCH higher dyno figures![Frown](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)
Or is this an English/American translation problem and does it mean something totally different ???

I cannot speak for Carl
![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
But a few turbo / supercharged guys
![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Use alcohol / water injection usually a 50/50 mix
![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
After the blower, in the intake to help cool the intake air
![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
This is a very common practice in the tuner world
![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
If you are not familiure with this process
![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
See these links

So please explain how using alcohol / water injection makes these numbers "worthless".
All the best

Question, have you figured out why your 928 is suffering a 25% + drivetrain loss?

Hi ![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Lollllllllll..I know perfectly well how it works...
What I am saying is....forget those dyno figures for a supercharger....the figures are for a supercharger PLUS Methanol....not the same thing at all...
Precisely the same as running a blower plus Nitrous...or running a blower with NitroMethane...
To be honest....I could probably get ANY 928 to produce those figures WITHOUT a blower if I mixed the fuel with alky........engine might not survive though...![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
All the best Brett

Boosting any 928 will totally change the character of the car. The transformation would be like going from a HONDA PACIFIC COAST to a YAMAHA V MAX. They are an absolute riot to drive once blown.Everytime the boost gadge goes past 5 psi,a smile comes across my face And 4 letter words come to mind. BUT you must be very carfull with the amount of boost ,the amount of timing and air to fuel ratios.I would also recomend going with a proven system and an installer that knows what he is doing.I would recomend Tim murphys kits and Jean-louis in WI as the installer.

i never saw any noticable gains when adding a water/meth mix on my set up. (snow performance boost cooler)This is becasue its introduced prior to the SC inlet. i think it really should go after...but that would be a big PITA to rig into my Twinscrew and i would be concerend about even distribution. I do see the temp at the inlet face of the SC drop a good 60'F though. Nice thing to see on the 100'f days of summer where the temp at the inlet sits at 120-130'F Ive got the vid some where to show it.....however these gains arent realized through the entire system itself.

IIRC Tim Murphy did not see any gains turning on the water / meth mix either, his is mounted after the blower, before the IC. When / if I reach 12-14psi with my 81 I'm going to install a water / meth setup to only kick in after 10psi or so. Extra insurance at high boost.
