They were sitting on my porch when I got home. Now I'm running out of excuses to fix a couple things... Thanks Ken!

Thanks Again!

Kurt

PS I'm willing to pass on my custom box to someone if you are still interested in making more of these.

If you make some more, I have a 95 that could use them.

I'll have four or five (of seven) assembled this weekend. I haven't had time to work on them for more than a couple hours at a time.

Truth be told, I have been spending more time than I expected working on the PorKensioner. It has been taken three laser-cut prototype brackets to get the dimensions right. With each one I have to R&R the tensioner on both engines to check the fit. The last one is running on the '81 (after some cutting and welding). One more bracket and it should be ready for my 86.5 -which I really want to drive!

After reading the thread on the tensioner I don't know which invention I'm more anxious to hear you are focusing on, the lift bars I'm waiting for delivery of, or the tensioner that I now know I'm going to order the minute you say they are available!

Great stuff!
Now turn off your computer and get back to work!

There is one available! (Cancelled order for the last S3, which I have not had time to finish.)

Either S3 or S4.

[redacted ]

I'll be out for a while, so please post here if you have paid.

I got mine recently. Just wanted to say thanks! And anyone thinking about this purchase you better jump on it because without a lift you need these, no question about it!

I'm about to order a set of liftbars, I believe. I was going to order Harbor Freight jackstands. Was wondering which HF jackstand most of you prefer with liftbars?

The shorter ones. I have to take the adjustable part off of my large jack stands to use them with the floor jack I have and my 928. If you have a super large jack ( mine is a good sized floor jack ) you may be OK w/ the larger ones.

The 12 ton units? They sound great, since their footprint is over a 12", but I wonder if that's excessive. I don't know the specs, but I have a large floorjack.

Normally, I use metal ramps, backwards, after jacking a side of the car up, sometimes with a 2x4 to get that extra height so the hanging wheels clear the metal ramp.

I'm sure that what I just described isn't a good idea, but that's why I'm getting these liftbars, right? : )

Actually, when doing that "procedure" on my diesel Benz, I slid under the car just in time to watch it's rear trailing arm develop a crack, later found to be caused by rust. What I did stressed the arm, which was bound to fail anyway.

I have done this same thing, once, on my 928's front. No problems except for nearly dropping the car as the geometry changed whilst lifting...

I'll check the specs on my jack or measure it's height. I imagine most use the 6 ton jackstands, but am just guessing...
