Those would look nice, just the way they are, on a poorly rimmed red 78 I know of...
What's wrong with those 5-spokes?
As for the widened phone dials....I've had many offers over the years and I still have them
Twin Turbo Todd made them about 20 years ago. He started with 8 wheels, cut them all in half, made a tongue and grove to piece them together then welded.
What happened to the "left over" pieces? Most likely scrapped.....too bad, would look nice on the wall if nothing else but back then nobody wanted them.
Don't get me wrong, I like them on the 928, I just don't need them (or I need to buy another Porsche.... )
Those are nice.....wish we could put a good deep dish wheel on the 928 like the 86 951's
Next up, finding 16" tires for 8.5" wide phone dials for my 79. They are polished which I'm not a huge fan of, thinking of having them anodized.

Interesting 8.5's probably a good size but will IMO make the car look dated and polished wheels are a huge PITA. I was never a huge fan I had the 7 & 8 on my 80. Now those 5 spokes look fantastic on these cars.

I know the 78 will retain phone dials, that's going to be the "one" car in the fleet to stay all original. The question is....stock phones or the wide ones?
The 81 and 87 will get the Carrera III's. The 80 will most likely keep the wheels on right now.
The 79 is the big question. I have a set of 10x18 et65 still in the boxes, the idea was to run 265's all around for track use. I don't see that happening any time soon nor do I want to spend the money on street tires that size for it.
Thinking the wide phones for the 79 and stock phones for the 78.....
Yes, we invent such problems
Here is my 79 circa early 90's when Jim Page owned it:
