Roger,
Do I have to come down there and MAKE you take your medications??
Step away from the garage and take a nice long nap. The heat is obviously getting to you.

You have to understand - with Roger its like a sort of religion.... a bit of a cult (the "one foot brigade" perhaps or the "won't clutch clan"). Its a very small cult of course... Which is why Roger has to buy so many cars...

Anyway as such - a swap for a manual would be quite pointless since the mission is conversion of all 928's to Auto boxes...!

Well it has been hot...

Can you swap out the valve body for a 3rd gear start?

Sorry guys - someone has to make you see sense and I for one can lead you to the straight and narrow.
So far no one has offered some advise on how to make the conversion.
The first step is to admit that I'm right and follow my divine intervention.
Then it is an easy path to follow.
So I guess I can cross you guys of the list for the conversion kit.
Shame, I was offering a discount for those who signed up early.

OK just in case there is light beyond the disbelievers, do I use a 4 speed auto or a 3 speed auto?

"There are only 10 kind of people in the World", those that drive 5 speed 928's (0) and those that drive the ultimate experience - the auto box.
Give up you 5 speed fantasy and join me on the AUTO side.
You Know it Makes sense!!!!

HO-LY ****!! I just got off the phone with Roger and he's really gone over the deep end. He says he just had his right leg amputated to show how serious he is about this. I couldn't bring myself to tell him ......

Due to cost and availability issues, it seems to me the only sensible conversion is to the Chevy Power Slide. I had one of the immortal 2 speeds in my first Corvette (1953) and was immediately hooked for life. Talk about 'set and forget'. I often didn't even notice the one shift slide by. As it turns out the measurments are perfect for just eliminating the transaxle and sliding the power glide, drive shaft and rearend right into place. We'll need to spend a little time hanging a torque converter off the flywheel but I'm sure we can come up with an adaptor in a few minutes. Think of the weight savings we'd gain by not having all that independant suspension crap back there.

<-----ONElegBRIGADE!!!!!! and i do drive with my left foot!!!!!...yess yes...im a FOOT soldier just think 100 soldiers and only need 50 pairs of boots!!!!! think of all the savings

on to your project ROG
TQtube is shorter
Rearfloor pan is raised in the auto ( to make room for TQconverter)
drive axles i beleive are the same
auto shifter could be much beter (they need to be more like a slapshifter, slapshifters only alow one up or one down, never overshoot a gear, never worry about sliding into nuetral)

The poor ''slushbox'' what did the autobox ever do to all you stick****ers.....then again i would love to bang threw the gears of a 928!!!! anyone with a 5sp that will not care if i destroy it?
