Mark, so you are saying then, just disconnect the couplers at the end of each hose and pull the hole spider off? Obviously the fuel system and stuff needs to come off as well no?

Being in Chicago I love to get bit by mosquito .....so sic of snow. A little wd40 makes the tubes slide nicely.

"Snug" is all I've ever done and that's holding up under almost 20psi of boost.

I also put a dab of copper Wurth anti-seize on the bolts.

I went with 20 nm since that is the spec in the manual for m8 bolts.

Default Spider Intake wire wheel cleaning?

Anyone know if the spider intake will rust (as steel parts do) after a light wire wheel brushing?
I tried, degreaser, 50/50 water/muric acid on the left.
I then gently wire wheel brushed on the right.

Is a heat resistant clear coat necessary to avoid rust?

I'll tape up the holes before spraying but any other heads up on cleaning the spider intake manifold much appreciated

It's not made out of steel, it's not gonna rust. It's worth doing a coat of matte or satin clear Cerakote to make it easier to clean in the future.

Default Spyder Intake - Hole on the bottom

Anyone know what this hole is for?
Does it connect somewhere on the 2nd picture?
Am I missing a hose/plug connector?

What does into this hole in the bottom of the spyder intake?

Does that hole connect to somewhere in this area?

I have several. This is a 1980. But I'll look into how to add it to my signature as well. Thanks.
Can you help with the hole and any possible connector I'm missing?

For '78-79 CIS cars that hole through the manifold is to get access to the fuel mixture adjustment screw on the air elbow guide. On an L-jet '80-84 I think it's an appendix and doesn't do anything, but I've never owned an L-jet car so I'm not 100% sure.
