That looks almost as good as your avatar!

Great use of space; the workmanship looks top notch!

Maybe a silly question, but will it fit on automatics too? The manuals have a huge amount of room where the turbo looks to be located (where the torque converter housing would be), but the auto?

Couple more questions:
Can you do a Y-pipe for MSDS headers? Or will I have to fab my own?
Can I buy w/o the rear muffler if I want to do something different?

Unsure on automatics, but wil check within a month & make necessary corrections.

Air filter is about 2' off the ground, so you'd be in deep trouble anyways before you starting sucking in water. It's not foam, it's AEM's new filter (oil-free), or K&N worst-case if AEM doen't pull through for me.

No y-pipe for MSDS Headers: purchase the x-pipe adater (pictured above) & modify to that. Too many discrepancies with the MSDS for me to chance an expensive pipe. Yes, you can delete the rear muffler, though I'll have another option for that too (wait on that one!) if you like loud & more obnoxious.

Mark..."Unsure on automatics, but wil check within a month & make necessary corrections." Tell me that you are joking... You did not KNOW that all that "extra space" in front of a 5 speed trans was for the automatic torque convertor housing ? The question about the air intake was not that it would be underwater but that the mist and spray UNDER a car even in a light rain goes everywhere.

I've never owned an automatic, but I'll check. The turbo apparatus is not snug against the transaxle anyway, in fact, the opposite is true. Still, a few changes here/there might allow a fit even on the Autos.

I've checked the air filter under torrential rains (as I do live in flash-flood-central). Even when it's soaking outside, the air filter is dry.

IIRC, the early cars don't have all that extra space on a 5spd either. The actually had a different body with out all the convertor space.

We'll see, no need to panic yet. There's plenty of room to rearrange if necessary.

3sp auto, early 4sp auto, '87+ auto & all the 5sp manuals. There are many different confiqurations and some of them have effect all the way to what back seats fits to what body. Hope you can pull it off.

Now the confusion in my first post (#6) is making more sense. I've been under my car looking and scratching my head trying to figure out where you stashed that turbo. Now I understand.

I'm sure you can get it done with the other models, but I bet it won't be as easy or clean as it is with your later 5-spds.

Can you elaborate as to where you are putting the intake?

I had to fit the kit based on those most likely to purchase it: Many more boosted 5-speeds out there than autos. Sorry, but I had to start somewhere.

Air filter is situated under the uni-body behind the battery box. It's a 8" long, 3.5" ID conical air filter, with a 3.5" mandrel bent aluminum intake tube to the MAF (relocated with a waterproof OEM connection) located before the turbocharger.

While some of you are busting my ***** here, keep in mind the 928 was not designed with turbo's in mind, so you have to use what space you can gather. I've dismissed the incredible feat (& price) of trying to kit a pair of twins & all the required plumbing, & the rear & lack of problems associated there with. The single turbo is a very roomy setup that might yield the flexibilty to be easily fit onto Autos with minmal changes. Let me experiment with this as time allows as it is in my path of things to do.
