this is where it comes from.... this is a 928 board, now some people on here own a corvette, but in reality the 928 is sorta in the competittion field as the vette. First off there is always someone faster, and im sure the vette guys your talking about could also get blown away by a 928 too(theres a couple really really really fast ones).
the story was a guy beat a Z06...thats it

There always are exceptions.

My main point is why belittle a car guy because of what his or her choice of car is?

I just seem to like them all, mustangs, cudas, my old chevelle, you name it, if it is a neat car i like it.

Some of the guys and girls on the Corvette forum are the same way and i do not understand that either.

Ok, i am out of here and i hope every one has a good weekend and does not have to work like i do.

"There is another small Brit company called Noble who make a car for similar bucks that would also give the Z06 a hard time. Now that might make it across the pond."

I saw a Noble at the 928 OCIC in Denver last weekend. It was.....interesting.
May need some refinement, as it appears to be a kit car. I didn't ride in or drive it.

I have seen 6 of them around Socal and 3 of them locally. They are shipped without an engine to the US. I forgot what engines they are putting in them. (Volvo 6 cyl???) Anyway, the two I saw leaked oil all over the engine due to misfitting fittings However, they are rockets and eat canyons for breakfast. If you see one, I think you should just admire it and leave it alone.

Checked the website, looks like they already sell them in the USA. There are not many road cars which will touch these for performance and handling, becoming semi-legendary amongst enthusiasts over here.

Fi I could get my GTS to at least move like a C5 generation Z06, that would be awesome.
Interesting thread

Chevy did get it right this time, for the 1st time in many years. Watching the ZO6 the last few years at ALMS has been very entertaining. They look very large but whip *** on much smaller (looking) european cars like the 91...nevermind :-) It seems while everyone else is driving their cars on the very edge the vettes are just cruising at 8/10's.

Once again, if you don't think your GTS, SC'd, could compete with a ZO6 on the street then you haven't been paying attention. For $60k the vette is a great deal. For a total of less than $30k I still prefer my SC'd GT, however

The one at the OCIC had a twin turbo'd V-6.

If its only sold withouth an engine, then it doesn't qualify as a porduction vehicle. It's a kit car.

Isn't it true that the 911s in the ALMS series are forced to use intake restrictors to slow them down and keep them closer in performance to other competitors, like Vettes? It seems whenever someone or something gets good at some activity, all the others find a way to restrict the overachiever to "equalize" the show. For this reason alone I stay away from those races now. The better Porsche gets, the more they are restricted. This happened with the GT1s until Porsche simply backed out; they were wiping out the competition with their little 3.2l GT1 until someone stepped in with restrictor rules. These races are all show for the fans. I say let them compete unrestricted. I wonder how much longer Audi will have their way in this series, before calls for resticting them are made?

Didn't Audi get penalized heavily in the 80's with Quattro?

Dont understand why the standard engine isnt fitted ; the 3.0 Ford V6 duratec. No mention of fitting a different engine on the website.
