I'm surely not running him down. He's been helpful to me, but I was under the impression he made his living selling nice Honda's and loves 928's so he buys and few and sells a few...which IMHO is a great way of life!!!
The fee's for sellers and buyers seems to me a normal thing if the transaction takes place.

I for one, applaud Todd's efforts and thank him for sharing his finds. He as a talent for finding little gems and like any other talents, he should be compensated for his efforts. Nothing wrong with that.

I truly appreciate anyone providing info on an available shark for us all. Todd was very responsive in his information to me about this shark. In his post, he made it clear that it was optional to send him a finder's fee should the eventual buyer choose to do so.

Some may want a fee, some may not. I posted a Shark last summer being offered by a Brumos salesman of his personal car. Once I posted, it was sold within 48 hours. I was happy to help him sell it & happy a Rennlister bought it too. At what this GTS is priced at, if whoever ends up with it only pays $20K, I'd say there was certainly some room for the buyer to float some $$ of thanks Todd's way as a token of gratitude. Even a nominal amount just to recognize that they probably wouldn't of gotten the car without Todd telling us about it right? How many GTS's are out there priced this low?? I say who cares whether he's a dealer or not. Heck, nothing wrong with Wilhoit selling the great Sharks he does yes? Would we rather Todd just not tell us the next time he's aware of a shark being for sale that some might be interested in? Now him becoming a member would be even better I admit.

ps, in the above scenario, I neither asked for, expected or received any compensation for helping the seller & buyer connect for the transaction. The salesman who is also a friend, reciprocated by telling me about the shark for sale earlier this year by an individual here in Jax. I went to look at it simply so I could tell anyone interested here about it & ended up buying it myself!! Even though he is a Porsche salesman & makes his living receiving compensation for selling porsches, he did not ask, nor would he of taken any offer on my part for payment. He was simply returning my favor to him from last year.

if you are going to use this forum for financial gain, i think being a member is mandatory, no? I mean, you can't post for sale stuff unless you are a member.

Is he using it for financial gain? Or is he selflessly saying here's a SMOKING deal I found, you guys have at it, and if you feel generous toss me a bone for my effort? After all he is a seller. I'm not talking about the past. I just think this was nice and I really don't see a problem with his doing this, in fact I am thankful for it.

I sent an email but did not get a response. I don't necessarily mind him asking for a finders fee but it would be nice if he answered his email.

Todd answered mine last night in about five minutes tops. In fact, I received a total of three emails with his answering of my questions, two last night & one this morning. He mentioned in the last one that he had also provided the seller's info to several others. Perhaps he either didnt get your email or he already gave multiple people the seller's info & thought that was enough. Not sure, but he was very responsive to me. The seller just called me back about 30 minutes ago & told me that he had multiple potential buyers that he has spoken with today. When I asked the seller about his price of $20k, he replied that he was actually asking $25 & felt that was a fair price, but had told Todd that $20k was his absolute bottom line. I have the feeling that this one is pretty much already sold. Somehow the seller didnt seem necessarily overly eager about my interest. But then again, I could understand if he's been fielding multiple buyers all day contacting him.

Sounds to me like he jacked the price when people started calling and showing interest.

Maybe he is including a 'finders fee'

It's not a 'smoking deal' until a PPI has been done.

Actually, my membership just ran out. I was on the two year plan with Rennlist. How do you think I was able to advertise my '91 GT for sale in the Rennlist classifieds?

I hope someone on this site was able to buy the car. It was truly a steal. I'd have bought it if I didn't already have my GT.

The owner called me earlier tonight, but didn't leave a message. I was at the Allman Bros. concert and missed the call alltogether. I hope he wasn't to pissed that I gave out his info...............and his bottom dollar!
