Caliper color suggestions...
I would like to get some opinions on a caliper color other than red.
I have a set of wheels that showcase the brakes really well and I am thinking of painting the calipers and the rotor hats for a better look. While I do like the red caliper look, I am thinking of going to a silver caliper with the rotor hats being painted a dark gray.
What are your thoughts on this ? The car's color is Guards Red.
Thanks.

i only like red, or black. The red on red would look really good. Not a fan of silver as that is basically what a regular caliper looks like... the porsche yellow isn't that bad either....

I'll vote for silver hats and calipers.

The stock calipers on my '90 S4 are already black with white lettering. When did they switch to painted calipers?

careful what you ask for... last time I asked this question, it was suggested that I paint them "doily" color.

Rob,
You can take a piece of posterboard and cut it the size of your caliper and paint it (make several to paint several colors) Just push it in between the wheel and your caliper and step away. Take pics look at it, whatever. When I was contemplating the colors (red or black) on my car, it made it a whole lot easier than just trying to imagine the color on the caliper itself. For a red car, I'm thinking there is not alot of colors that would just be "striking". Black, red, and yellow come to mind. If you're doing silver wheels, silver caliper will be lost with them and you wont really be able to see them.
Good luck!!!
