Now that I have the new wheels... You can see my sins: rusty hubs and ugly calipers. Big Dave said I should get the brush on paint - any opinions?
Aslo the paint looks like it comes in black, red, yellow, and silver. Hubs will get silver paint, of course. But not sure what color I should choose for the calipers. The body color is Chiffon White - kind of a cream color, like the the new Chrysler 300's you see the brothers driving. Thanks for the input.

I think black or silver. I've always been partial to black but in this case silver may look very nice. Don't go red, you'd just be drawting attention to the little stompers

Dont brush it. I had near-perfect results by spraying my calipers in-situ with black UHT "Case paint". It's an American product for high temperature applications. Not easy to find here but highly recommended by motorcycle enthusiasts. I cleaned the calipers with degreaser then smoothed the (many) scratches with wet soapy wire wool and fine emery paper, then cleaned them again with laquer thinner. I masked it carefully, which took about 20 minutes per caliper then sprayed 3 coats of the case paint. The whole thing took about an hour and a bit per wheel and when it had dried I removed the paint from the raised lettering with a fine file and emery. Polished it with the silicone spray I use on the plastic parts. Now a year later and it still looks literally good as new.
Don't know what other colours if any are available.

Colin-
Thanks for the sugestion. Did you spray the pads too? Since I need to do brakes (Holy crap they were squeeling last night!) and I need to replace the rear rotors (I think) Would it be easier to just remove the whole caliper? I also need to bleed and flush the brake lines with fresh fluid, but not sure what's all involved with removing the caliper from the car.
Snow is in the forecast, so it looks like she's tucked away for now.
BTW, still looking for a photoshopped version of my caliper.

I think you can wet sand with 320. use 220 if it wont cut the rust enough. Then finish with 320. Use simple green or fantastic and then brake clean to get in the cracks. You want to get all of the dust and surface rust off. Then spray with hi temp engine paint. I like universal black or lo gloss black. Then sand off the high lights or PORSCHE letters with 320.

Andrew...you can check out my calipers next time you're around my car. I used the Tweeks brush-on paint and I'm happy with the results. I didn't need to remove the calipers from the car to do it, either.

I was thinking why decide? Go for both. I threw in a little green to give it that stoplight effect (or Jamacian flag). Sorry if it looks a little rough, it's tough staying within the lines with such small brakes (and after a little Jamacian).

I took mine apart, since I'm doing a full brake job. You may want to consider too. We have the old cars, so a brake caliper rebuild will probably be needed at some point, why not do it now. Then the parts can be painted without much taping. Just a cleaner look. I bought a sandblasting cabinet from Harbor Cheap so I don't have to sand it. I figured I'd need it anyway, since I live in the land of salt air. I'm going with black.
