Made it up & back without any issues. The TB light came on waiting in line to leave the meadow, Had 800+/- miles on the new belt so it was due. I got a mini tech session in adjusting it the next morning at the hotel, Thanks to Mike G, Don & Chris! You Guys Rock!!

Default Come On Guys, Only 2 speeding tickets???

Count me in as one of the 2 who have owned up, there have to be others. Wrote me up for 80 in 65. Lonley stretch of NC421 at 9PM friday night only one on the strectch where I got nailed.

V1 got one Ka hit, from side, looked down, my speedo was somewhere above 90. Slammed the brakes pretty hard, then got 2 Ka hits, one from side and one from back. Not sure if he had a buddy hiding in the weeds too, but when he finally got me over, he said he clocked me at 83 in 65 zone.

With the 265/40/18's and the speedo error, my speedo must have been around 78 when he got a good read on me. Great brakes on these cars.

speedo went about 1/3 of the way down, wiper arms came loose in torential down pour (just had to drive faster to keep the water off, went to turn on the lights last nigt and WTF there was no cover, heard some scratching noise and a thump and saw it flying around out back. Picked it up and now I will be looking for a new headlight cover. But thats it. Even with severe TV (thickness variation) in the rotor it ran fine, no problems at all. Best part was the self powered, transportable speed limiter went shopping with Daniel's wife, Wooo Hoo. Sorry about the few butt puckers in the twisties dan, but I don't get out much LOL.

Besides an injection altitude issue and a slightly uncooperative turbo drain my car performed flawlessly.

Minor issue with the stop light warning coming on while driving, but it flashed a few times until I hit the brake pedal then quit. Only happened twice, one on the way and one coming back.

I'll count that as no problems.

Exact same thing happened to me. It was dark out, just passed a pickup truck and never saw the tire in the road before I hit it, and boy did I hit it hard. I thought for sure it left a big dent in the fender but when we pulled over the check it out the only damage was the hard plastic fender liner in front of the passenger wheel is shattered. No big deal.

The car ran flawless the entire trip. I even spanked a 600cc sport bike on the way back.

1275 miles and no issues. Feeling really bad for Tarek though.

oooh!
now i remember my classes of driving differential equations,
in this case, i see lots of $ bills flying form somebody's pockets...
as my teacher taught me: "be wise, son and you shall not crash yourself against any non-animated objects, make sure you are being crashed-upon by a wealthy old dude"...i always follow that advise.
Second advise "be scared...very scared of the moms in large SUVS with cell phones..." Yep, i am!

I decided to tackle my warm start issue an hour before the mountain run. I had a slight leak at the fuel pressure gauge at the fuel rail. After alot of discussion between me, Don, and George about teflon tape (very funny, just had to be there I guess) we decided to go ahead and use some because we just couldn't get the connection to seal (thanks so much to the guy that had the tape). After I cranked her up to check for leaks you could hear a knocking sound around the waterpump, you could also tell there was a miss in the engine. I also freaked out when we found that half of my injectors didn't even have clips (don't know what the hell happened there). We were afraid the bearings in the pump were gone, but the pump only has a couple thousand miles on it. I guess Mike and Mel had just walked by, luckily Mike forced me to pull the timing covers (I probably would have just driven it on back to BW). There was alot of slack in the belt! Luckily Mike had the 27mm for the crank bolt, and I had the Kempf tool. The hardest part was getting my aluminum intake tubes off. Everyone else took off on the mountain run, and the 3 of us stayed until we got it done. Our wives got to spend some time getting to know each other. I found that me and Mike have the same mindset on alot of things, especially when it comes to cars. He is just full of information, which I really helpful when something is broke out in the middle of nowhere. The car runs great now, but I still plan on going in and checking the belt and timing just to be safe. Don let me drive his euro Sunday morning (when he get done with his interior it is really going to be a headturner). After Mike and Mel got there TB's tensioned, Mike let me take his S4 for a drive. I was blown away by the stopping power! Made my 81 feel like it didn't even have any brakes. Thanks George for all of the laughs!!! My father in law wanted me to tell you Hi (hahaha)! Thanks to Don, Mel, and Mike, you guys are awesome!

Ed: Yes, could be the tensioner arm bolt. Also, worn tensioner arm bushing can cause this.

In Texas, 93 in 60 = 1 night in jail, $300.00 fine. Wife finally gets to drive car! Priceless (for her)? Atleast she wasn't towed? ( I mean the car) hahahah.. Sound's like you all had a great time except for the tree and Taurus encounter. Keep checking the U.S. Mail for wallet. Stay safe out there!
